to Conway's Game of Life
A filled 83x83 box in the rule b3/s23 produces the P6 unix oscillator
on each diagonal. I found this a while ago by pure chance. I was only
about 12 at the time, so I didn't know much about the game of life and
was quite amazed at this.
It's interesting to see such a rare object just appear out of the
random ash like that, even though the starting box isn't exactly
'natural'.
I remember the first time I saw a pulsar spontaneously emerge; it was
hit by some debris before I could take a screenshot and was mad tht
I'd missed it - until I'd found out how common it was a few weeks
later!)
RLE:
x = 83, y = 83, rule = 23/3
