Dates for Kannapolis Middle School

Here are dates they have computers:

Wednesday, Nov 7 9:30 - 11:20

Friday, Nov 9 Alternate Schedule( not a good day to come!)

Monday, Nov 12 Veterans Day Holiday(No School!)

Wednesday, Nov 14 9:30 - 11:20

Monday, Dec 10 9:30 - 11:20

Tuesday, Dec 11 9:30 - 11:20

So, I proposed that we also go to the school on Nov 16 (Friday), Nov 19 (Monday), Nov 21 (Wed): day before Thanksgiving

and Nov 26, 28, 30. Other dates that could work are Monday, Dec 3, Wednesday, Dec 5, and Friday, Dec 7.

Dec 7, 10, 11 are all during your exams.

Please let me know which of these dates will work for you - asap would be great so we can make a plan.  This Thursday, I would like to spend our meeting making some non-computer activities that correspond to the CSDT tools.

We have 4 Macs that we might be able to use for outreach, they have 2 computers in the classroom, I have one Dell laptop I can bring, that makes 7 computers, and they have about 30 students.  If we could bring at least three more computers with us that would make for 3 students at a computer, which isn't too too bad, since they had mostly 2 students per computer last time I was there.

Also some days we can make actual beads, or do the activities without the computers- we can bring graph paper and have students work in pairs: one can be the "computer" and one can be the "designer" where the designer has to tell the computer what kind of pattern to plot and where to place it on the graph.

We can give some homework too...
