We are involved with a project with Kannapolis Middle School the week of October 22nd. Each day that week as part of a focus on IT we will be responsible for a 45 minute presentation to about 70 students. Some of our SLC students are helping us out but could use your assistance with Gaming. Would you or one of your students be available one day that week to handle the topic of gaming? The presentation would be from 11a-11:45a. The only day that is booked thus far is October 25th. Bruce Long will be doing a presentation on Digital Forensics. Joshua Soles will be doing Internet Safety, we just haven’t confirmed what day will work for him.
They do not have a computer lab. I’ve not seen the room but I’m told they can set you up with a projector and screen for your computer. This is an opportunity to talk to them about gaming, what we offer here at CCI, and career opportunities. Often times the kids we meet only think of it as what they do on the Playstation at home and don’t understand there are many other applications. Bruce Long will be doing a presentation on Digital Forensics. It’s pretty standard stuff in terms of explaining how with the right software you can find all kinds of stuff on hard drives, cells phones, etc. And then goes on to explain we teach folks how to use the software and career opportunities. One of our SLC students will be doing a presentation on Internet Safety. The dos and don’ts of using your computer at home.
