well I am going to sell my zoom g9.2tt and get something I can plop on my lap or small deskspace for home recording. I have read some reviews of the v-amp 2 and see some rave reviews and some who say it is a piece of crap that gets blown away but the pod 2.0. I also see they can be had cheap now as a new version is out. so please let me know your experience with the v-amp 2 and apart from some new bells and whistles can anyone with recording experience say if the new version 3 would be worth the cost? my main concern is that is sounds good I don't need more amp models or the usb stuff on the new one...but if it sounds significantly better that might justify the cost...thanks in advance for your input...
Here is just a thought. The same basic electronics as the v-amp2 are in the V-ampire amplifiers. I've owned all the versions of these at one time or another, and have a good friend who used the v-amp2 for quite some time.
If it were me, I would find either a v-amp pro rack unit to use or the v-ampire head unit. The head is 120 watts I believe and can be used without a cabinet direct to your computer if you desire. I was pretty impressed with its ease of use. [unless you want an combo amo in which case the v-ampire amps work great and have all the same electronics.]
I luv my v-amp 2, I hope they come out with a firmware upgrade for it to match that of the V-amp 3. I belong to the V-amp Yahoo group, and from emails that have been sent there, it seems the editor software at Behringer.com for the Vamp 2 doesn't work with the Vamp 3.
