Hi,

I get:

building workspace has encountered a problem. An internal error occured during: "buidling workspace"

An internal error occurred during: "Building workspace".
java.lang.StackOverflowError

this happens every now and then on svn version, at least once in 2-3 months and I have to clean install which is almost half a day of work :( :(

what could be the possible reasons? It just happens all of a sudden. I built and ran a model, went for lunch, now I come back and it is troubling me :(

regards,

Hi,

Is it happening in Eclipse ? Or in GAMA ?

In Eclipse, although it never happened to me, you should try to run it with the ‘-clean’ option.

To do this, navigate to the Eclipse.app application, choose « Open Package » (or something similar) to display the inside folders, then go to « Contents>MacOS ».

Open the terminal, type « cd » and then drag and drop the MacOs folder onto the terminal window. Hit return and execute « ./eclipse -clean » . this should fix some outstanding problems with the builder, workspace, etc.

If it does not, try to reinstall in a new Eclipse workspace rather than in the old one.

Cheers
Alexis

It is always in GAMA, that error is followed by a xtext validation something something. :(

Please could you also advice on windows system.

What does changing workspace really mean ? just change the folder  and then import the gama project again ?

I use both mac (home) and windows(lab) . and every day copy and transfer files between them, the gama file mostly (sometimes, includes folder) . This could be reason for corrupting workspace ?

OK. So this is perhaps related to the bug described here : https://code.google.com/p/gama-platform/issues/detail?id=782

Is it the case ?

I will try to investigate that soon. Difficult to do it immediately as my computer is broken and I must work on a small one while it’s undergoing repair, but I will try !

Cheers
Alexis

PS: in GAMA, you can use the « Switch Workspace » command in the File menu to create another one. Once it has restarted, just reimport your model.

Hi Srirama,
Actually at the beginning of these errors message will show us the "variable" or the "syntax" which cause the exception that break the building process of XText. Could you please copy full error message in eclipse when the popup of error appear the first time. And we will look up the solution then.
Cheers.
