Hi, all.

Sorry I've been a little quiet over the summer. It appears the LUG
mailing list has been quiet too.

Do we think it's a good idea to get back into the habit of having
meetings once a month? If so, tomorrow night might be a good time to
start, being the traditional first Wednesday of the month.

What is the feeling of the group?

Andrew.

Sure I could bring my Acer Aspire Revo and show off cheap HTPC
computing on Ubuntu + XBMC if people are interested.
I works quite nice and is very cheap for a HTPC solution.

Howdy,

Restarting the meetings is a good idea alright, I'm afraid I won't be
able to make tonight's but if there is interest from a few I'd say go
for it.

Maybe that'd be a better presentation as I've nothing prepared, and
may not even have access to a powerful enough laptop.
I'll try and bring eclipse on a CD anyway, just in case

Yes it came with wired keyboard and mouse but I replaced it with an el
cheapo wireless keyboard and mouse.
Also I bought a remote control (5 euro). Will demo it.
Because it is a generic computer, you can use it for surfing in the
living room as well.

Yes I bought it, 15 euro. note is now incredibly hard to buy the 180
Euro Linux version (160gb, 1Gb, Linux)
Some places sold them (I bought mine from the UK) but now the 300 euro
Vista versions are pushed (160gb, 2Gb, Vista).
That means a price increase of 120 euro just to run Windows! (slowly)
Anyways, will answer all your questions this evening.

8pm. But it's advisable to arrive before 8 because the security guys don't like us propping the doors open after that time.
