Happy new Year!

So firstly to warn you of a slightly longer then usual email, to cut down on the number of emails you receive we've put all the information in one, this makes it slightly longer but its worth the read!

I hope everyone is working off their Christmas indulgences by getting out on their bikes, official training started last weekend with a good crowd of people going out both Saturday and Sunday for a nice 20km cycle. If you didn't manage to get out last weekend don't worry, we'll be out every weekend from now til the end of March when we're all on our bikes to Galway! see here for our full list of trainings and the distance covered each week.

Also don't forget that before you can go out cycling with us everyone (student and non student) MUST be registered with Cycling Ireland, instructions on how to do this are here, if you have any trouble doing this please contact Conor at trai...@galwaycycle.ie and he'll be able to sort you out. Remember No Helmet, no Cycle, No Insurance, No Cycle!

Registration for the Galway Cycle 2014 will close at the end of January (14 days left) So if you were waiting until after Christmas to register with us don't leave it too long! register here, and don't forget that you must be registered with cycling Ireland before you can register with us!

Once registration closes we'll have our open meeting, this is going to be on Tuesday 11th of February at 7:30pm in JH1 on North campus of NUIM (no 40 on the attached map) At this we will have plenty of information to give you all, from details about the weekend and a talk from the charity (PWSAI) about where all the money we raise is going, to a quick talk about bike maintenance and collecting sponsorship cards/deposits. We'll also have a sample of jersey sizes for you to try out.

Last but not least is fundraising, hopefully you're all already well on your way to raising money for the PWSAI, but we've a few fundraisers of our own coming up, we've two bag packs (Dunnes, 20-23rd Feb,  and Tesco Maynooth 13-15th Feb) . Helping out at any 2 of these will count as a €30 reduction in the total amount you need to raise for the weekend. to sign up please fill in this doodle poll for tesco and we'll send another one out for Dunnes closer to the date. As always, if you have any great ideas for fundraisers and need a little helping hand, or are completely unsure of how to raise money check out our section on the website or email fundr...@galwaycycle.ie. Also for anyone who wants to collect donations online the PWSAI use idonate, its very similar to mycharity which we've used in previous years and to setup your own fundraising page follow the instructions on our fundraising ideas tab (here)

Hope to see everyone out at this weekend's training cycles,
Andrew Garrad
