Hello there,

Hope you’re all keeping well.

First off, thank you for all for the support of our various fundraisers.  Let’s keep it up.

BIG NEWS: Wednesday next, the 12th of December, we’re holding the official launch of the 26th Galway Cycle. The cycle will be launched by the President of the University, Philip Nolan, who will be joining us on the cycle to Galway this year, representatives from The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and past student and winner of RTE’s The Voice of Ireland Pat Byrne.

Official Launch and Opening of Registration

Location:        North Campus, near Phoenix Canteen

Time:              12:30pm-2:00pm

Turbo Trainers, Bake Sale and other fun activities on the day.

The Launch of the cycle means the OPENING OF REGISTRATION

  • All the details about sponsorship requirements for collectors and cyclists are now available on the website. We also have some helpful tips on how to come up with the cash.
  • Please register as soon as you can after Wednesday to ensure that we see you on the 22nd of March for a fun filled weekend in Galway.
  • Registration costs €50 which can be deducted from the cost of your sponsorship. The sooner the better to avoid disappointment, and all cyclists fully registered with deposits paid early will get personalised cycling jerseys.
  • Also, new this year, if you help out at a fundraising event, e.g. 2 hours bag packing or a church gate collection, you will receive a €30 reduction in the amount you have to raise.

Important: Our bank account details have changed from last year. If you are planning on making a payment directly to the account, please let us know and we will pass on the details.

Finally, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope to see you safe and well in the New Year; hopefully at some of our fundraisers including bag packs and the tag rugby and soccer tournaments. We may see you on the road on the weekends. The training schedule is now live. It also includes details of the mandatory attendance cycles for the safety of everyone cycling in a large group.

For more information, the link to the website is below and if you give us a ‘like’ on Facebook you’ll be kept up to date on all the Galway Cycle goings on.

All the very best,

Emma.
