This Wednesday, the 11th of December, we’re holding the official launch of the 27th Galway Cycle. The cycle this year is being done to raise funds and awareness for the Prader Willi Syndrome Association of Ireland (PWSAI). There will be representatives from the charity, previous cyclists as well as ourselves the organising committee at the launch so drop by with any questions you have about getting involved with the cycle.
Official Launch and Opening of Registration
Location: North Campus, near Phoenix Canteen
Time: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
The Launch of the cycle means the OPENING OF REGISTRATION.
Last year the Maynooth Students for Charity's Galway Cycle raised over €150,000 for The Jack and Jill foundation and this is your chance to get involved in this year’s cycle as a collector or a cyclist. All the details of sponsorship required as a collector or cyclist are now available on our website. We also have some helpful tips on how to come up with the cash. Registration costs €50 which can be deducted from the cost of your sponsorship. Register with Cycling Ireland and then ourselves as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, details on how to complete both registrations are available on our website.
The Cycle is a Maynooth staple, having raised over €1,000,000 in the last quarter century so don’t miss your chance to become part of it. Check out our website for more information and just ask any of us who have done it before about the craic that is the Galway cycle weekend!
Also, if you help out at a fundraising event, e.g. 2 hours bag packing or a church gate collection, you will receive a €30 reduction in the amount you have to raise.
Finally, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope to see you safe and well in the New Year; hopefully at some of our fundraisers including bag packs, bake sales, the tag rugby and soccer tournaments, and of course, on Galway Cycle 2014.
For more information, the link to the website is below and if you give us a ‘like’ on Facebook you’ll be kept up to date on all the Galway Cycle goings on.
See you all soon,
Andrew
