Mornin’ Mobsters!

Ready for more fun and dancing in the street?

The “Galveston Mob” has been invited to help kick-off Galveston
Island’s Mardi Gras season by forming the first “Second Line Parade
Processional” in our island’s Mardi Gras history!

For more about the history and “how to’s” of “Second Line” parades,
visit:

The Galveston Mardi Gras “Second Line” will occur on the first night
of Mardi Gras, Friday, February 25th, at 8:30 p.m. and parade
throughout the downtown district on a 48-minute route behind the
Salute to George Mitchell. Our goal is to form the largest Second
Line Parade in the history of Mardi Gras (anywhere) or 1,500
participants. The dancing will be Second Line 'freestyle,' so no
choreography to learn or practices to attend.

The recommended dress for Galveston Mob Second Liners is “Black and
Bling” and all Galveston Mob Second Line participants are encouraged
to dress in anything black with LOTS of “bling.” For a nominal cost,
we hope to make available to all Galveston Mob “Second Liners” a Mardi
Gras umbrella for your personal use/decoration.

All pre-registered, official Galveston Mob “Second Line” participants
will be provided with free admission to the opening night of Mardi
Gras ($15 at the gate/$10 in advance). You will also be required to
execute a release of liability to the City of Galveston and the Mardi
Gras promoter (Yaga Entertainment, Inc.). No children under 12,
please.

We're moving to FaceBook! To register your interest in the Galveston
Mob 'Second Line' Mardi Gras parade, please look for Galveston Mob on
Facebook or send an email to Galves...@groups.facebook.com.

Please also feel free to encourage your friends, family, neighbors and
colleagues to participate as well.

Laissez les bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!)
