to Galveston FlashMob912
TIME TO GO: Approximately 3 days, 2 hours, 12 minutes
Friday/Saturday: Everyone who is planning to actually dance is
strongly encouraged to attend either the Friday evening (6-8 pm) or
Saturday morning (10 am - noon) practice. Your special Galveston
FlashMob912 souvenir will be distributed at this time.
Sunday: Dance participants should plan to arrive in the Strand area
not later than 1 p.m on Sunday, September 12. Please try to arrive
early (12:30 pm) as 23rd Street (Tremont) and Strand will both be
closed to vehicular traffic in a 1 block radius by Galveston Police
Department at approximately 1 p.m.
The dance will begin when the music starts :) Target showtime: 1:15
p.m.
What if it rains? Weather is looking pretty good right now...Barring a
'mandatory evacuation' and/or severe thunderstorms with lightening
that could jeopardize the safety of anyone, the 'show' will go on. If
necessary, the dance will be postponed to sometime within a 30 minute
(1:15 - 1:45) window...We only need 6 minutes of 'dry' weather to
complete the project!
What about afterwards? As soon as the dance is over, participants
should return calmly to the sidewalks and back to 'normal.' I know it
will be hard, but please try to avoid clapping/celebrating your
success until the videotaping is completed. Then, immediately after
videotaping stops, a special mix of fun, music that speaks to the
spirit of Galveston and her people will be played for everyone's
enjoyment. So, make plans to stay and enjoy your afternoon on The
Strand :)
See you soon,
Kitty Allen
