Subject: New Teaching Artist Opportunity

Virtual Interest Meeting this Thursday
New Teaching Artist Opportunity

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) is hosting a two-day festival program, titled Words on Fire: A Poetry and Performance Festival in March 2022. It will include the Annual Poetry Out Loud competition (organized by the National Endowment on the Arts and the Poetry Foundation), a poetry slam, and a written poetry contest.

CAH is looking for DMV teaching artists with backgrounds in theater, poetry, and related disciplines to conduct workshops for students and prepare them to perform at the Words on Fire festival. This program is specifically for DC's high school students, and workshops will be offered November 2021 – March 2022.
CAH is hosting an interest meeting at 5 pm this Thursday, September 30, for DMV Teaching Artists who want to learn more about this opportunity.
About the Commission
