IKAM Productions is casting for the short film, See It, Be It which is the final film in The Route Series created by Dr Carletta S Hurt.
The Route is a three part narrative series that shares the story of three Black women in media (Charlayne Hunter Gault, Barbara Brandon Croft, and Yvette Lee Bowser) who made history.
Filming for See It, Be It is slated for February 1-2, 2025. Rehearsal dates will be announced for January 2025.
LOGLINE: Two long-time Living Single fans inspire the next generation of storytellers by
showing them how representation in media can change lives.
CHARACTERS:
Dana Owens is a high-powered entertainment attorney who credits her success to the representation she saw on television. She wants to pay it forward by encouraging
high school students. African-American female, early 40s
Mrs. Alexander is a no-nonsense high school media arts teacher (and television fan) whose primary goal is preparing her students for the future. African-American female, early 40s
TC is a bit of a class clown in his media studies class. But once you grab his attention, he’s all in. Male Teen, athletic
Kim is one of the smartest students in the classroom, but she’s still a bit timid. She could use a burst of self-confidence. Female student, quiet, unassuming, creative
Khadijah (Girl 1) is Mrs. Jackson’s daughter and Maxine’s sister. African-American female, teenager

*Extras: 10-12 students (high school aged or high school looking to participate), teenagers
*Extras are volunteers who will receive good food, credit, IMDB listing, and a great time.
This is an ultra-low budget project. Cast and crew will be compensated via a nominal fee, good food, IMDB listing, credit, and a great time. Plus, you can be a part of a project that celebrates Black women making history.
