TheWisconsin School of Business is a participant in the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, which ensures that our curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is helpful to students preparing for CFA Program exams.
In addition to the courses listed here, the curriculum also incorporates electives in finance and accounting, including topics such as raising capital, mergers and acquisitions, entrepreneurial finance, multinational finance, valuation, financial statement analysis, and more.
As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program partner, the Wisconsin School of Business integrates at least 70 percent of the CFA certification program content into the curriculum. The three-year CFA certification exam program is the standard accreditation of the financial and investment industry, and the applied security specialization in the Wisconsin MBA Program will prepare you for exam day from your very first semester.

Jason serves the center as a member of the Hawk Fixed Income Portfolio Advisory Board. He is an experienced investor focused on identification and analysis of and investment in undervalued securities. Jason regularly directs interns to Northwestern Mutual.
Edwards brings more than twenty years of investment management experience to the program, using his background in equity management and research to prepare the next leaders in the field. He guides first year students in the management of equity portfolios. Edwards is a Wisconsin School of Business alumnus and has managed equity portfolios at firms like BlackRock and Baird, most recently serving as a senior analyst at a boutique hedge fund.
Hill provides valuable perspective as she shares extensive industry experience supervising student management of fixed-income portfolios. A program alumna who has served on the advisory board, Hill started her career as a credit analyst for Liberty Mutual, rising to senior positions in fixed income credit research, most recently as partner and head of global credit research at Napier Park Global Capital.

CFE is hosting the second annual ESG Case Competition, sponsored by Allianz Investment Management (AIM). Students will present their research and recommendations based on a case about a large local firm and its strategy for reducing Scope 3 carbon emissions.
The Climate Action Simulation co-hosted by Institute on the Environment and Funds Enterprise this year is a highly interactive, role-playing game for groups to explore the different stakeholders and solutions that need to come together to act on Climate Change. This year the simulation will focus on negotiating a set of policy initiatives that limit global temperature rises to 1.5 degrees
This game is a fun format for large groups to explore climate change solutions and see what it would really take to address this global challenge. The Climate Action Simulation was co-developed by Climate Interactive, the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative, and the UMass Lowell Climate Change Initiative

The four Carlson School Enterprise Programs select undergraduate students each year to work with MBA students in small teams to address the real-world challenges of client businesses which expect real-world results. It's an in-depth professional and transformational experience that few business schools offer. In the Summer of 2020 after the murder of George Floyd, Alejandro created and launched in partnership with 10 VC firms the term sheet Diversity Rider for cap table representation. The Diversity Rider is a call to action focused on increasing opportunities and access to wealth in venture capital and startups for underrepresented communities such as Black, LatinX, female, and LGBTQ+. Firms adopting the rider language pledge to bring folks from these communities into deals as co-investors, thereby instantly increasing diversity at the core of the deal-making process. We are now at 50+ VC firms who have signed up to the movement.
The Funds Enterprise is hosting a recruiting information session for MS of Finance and Undergraduate students interested in joining the Funds Enterprise as research analysts (academic credit course) this upcoming year (starting Spring 2022). This session will be targeted at MSF and UG students, however, Part-Time MBA students are also welcome to attend or request the recording.
