Call for Entries: The Shaft Exhibition
HANCOCK, MI - The Copper Country Community Arts Center’s The Shaft, is a community exhibition on mining heritage held each November in the Kerredge Gallery. This is a broad theme. Some subject matter or inspiration to consider is the current landscape, mining structures, how nature reclaims the land, the social impact mining had on this region, the history of mining, specific historical figures, or family stories. Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces for this non-juried community exhibit. Deadline for entry is Tuesday, November 4 by 5pm. Entry forms are available at the Copper Country Community Arts Center and on the website www.coppercountryarts.com.
The reception for The Shaft will be on Thursday, November 13 6-7:30pm during Party with the Arts. The Shaft will be on display November 6 through December 5, 2025. Cash prizes will be awarded by public choice and will be announced the first week in December. Voting will take place throughout the exhibition.
