THE PORTRAITS SHOW at the COPPER COUNTRY COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER
HANCOCK, MI – The Copper Country Community Arts Center presents The Portraits Show in the Kerredge Gallery now through May 1, 2021. The public was invited to respond to the theme of portraits - self portraits, portraits of others, and portraits of animals and pets.
Nineteen artists submitted a total of 34 pieces including paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel, as well as colored pencil, digital photography, collage, clay, beadwork, and three dimensional assemblage. Artists participating in the exhibition are Tammy Gajewski, Bob Dawson, Lindsey Heiden, Fredi Taddeucci, Barbara Summersett, Lynn Jarvi, Lance Larson, Bonnie Loukus, Julie Badel, J.D. Uponen, Amanda Pax, Pamela Hecht, Clay Hilman, Jeanne Houle Peters, Madhura Mehendale, Clyde Mikkola, Benjamin Mitchell, Cynthia Coté, and Joyce Koskenmaki. The exhibition also includes Portrait of a Woman, an oil painting by Evelyn Carter circa 1970 from the CCCAC’s Permanent Collection. The painting was a gift from the estate of Joe and Carol Giachino.
The Portraits Show can be seen in person April 7 through May 1, 2021at the Copper Country Community Arts Center’s Kerredge Gallery. The work in this exhibition will also be able to be viewed in an online gallery on our website, www.coppercountryarts.com
The Copper Country Community Arts Center is free and open to the public. It is located at 126 Quincy Street in Hancock. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 10-6 and Saturdays 10-2pm.
