Artist Demonstrations at Key Ingredients
In front of Copper Country Community Arts Center
Friday, July 18 6:00-8:00 pm
HANCOCK, MI – The Copper Country Community Arts Center is hosting six demonstrating artists in coordination with the City of Hancock's Key Ingredients on Friday, July 18 from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
Key Ingredients is an annual event featuring free samplings of food at local restaurants and showcasing local musicians performing on the street. The Copper Country Community Arts Center adds visual arts to this event by inviting local artists to come and work live before the strolling audience. This year the artists include: Rob Kangas, oil painting, Bobbi Shirey, pallet knife painting, Kay Oliver, pottery, Clyde Mikkola, drawing, and Mary Brodbeck, woodblock carving. In addition to these local artists, the CCCAC's visiting Artist-in-Residence, Alexander Lee Landerman will be on hand with his Tiny Type Cart and letterpress printing activity. Everyone is welcome to come and meet and watch and learn from artists at work in their various mediums.
This activity is supported in part by a grant from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Copper Country Community Arts Center is located at 126 Quincy Street in Hancock. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 11-6 and Saturday 10-2.
