GS,
To the best of my knowledge, the different "upgrades" were mostly
changes necessary to keep Gallery 3 running under each then-new
version of PHP. Early on Brad's first upgrade did include a new
html5-based image uploader, which totally replaced the old one in
Gallery 3.0.9 -- which relied on the terminated Flash protocols,
something Adobe had officially abandoned by then. As has been
said, most modules are standalone units that only get updated
rarely and then usually only in a very minor way, so there is no
reason to give it a new version number (although that would
probably be the best protocol to follow in a perfect world).
