Updated php to 8.1 from 7.4, Had to disable HTML Purifier

Was at PHP 7.4 but gallery didn’t work at PHP 8.1
So…updated Gallery from 3.1.2 to 3.1.5 today (although now listed as 3.0+)
And gallery still didn’t work at PHP 8.1

Narrowed it down to 2 plug-ins. Custom Menus and HTML Purifier.

Almost all of the Gallery works with those 2 plug-ins deactivated. I would like to keep these plug-ins activated, especially HTML purifier.

I suspect this issue has risen before but I can’t locate details of suggested fix.

Hi Angus,

If you check the version of the HTML Purifier you have, it's probably 4.2.0.

I upgraded mine to 4.15.0 which fixes the issues with PHP 8.x

You can check the version in : .../purifier/vendor/HTMLPurifier/HTMLPurifier.php

You can get the latest 4.15.0 version here:

http://htmlpurifier.org/download

You want to replace the vendor/HTMLPurifier directory with the contents of the "library" directory in the 4.15.0 download.  Take a backup first!

Great to get this sorted so quick.

The remaining issues are relatively minor and can wait for another day.

I don't use either of those, so can't help.  Sometimes, the logs will show something useful. 

My G3 is running well under PHP 8.5.    I posted some general error fixing for those going from PHP 7 to PHP 8 here, in case your logs show those errors for those two modules:
