KICK-OFF EVENT THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10 AT 5:30 PM IN THE EMERSON CULTURAL CENTER'S WEAVER ROOM
Gallatin Growth Solutions (formerly Bozeman Sustainability Group) is excited to announce its new initiatives for 2011! Come join us for our kick-off event Thursday February 10th at 5:30 pm in the Weaver Room of the Emerson Cultural Center. Have a beer (bring your own cup or risk being fined), enjoy some eats, and learn more about our upcoming Water Forum. Share your ideas and concerns for Gallatin Valley's water future, and find out how you can become involved in shaping it.
Gallatin Growth Solutions brings together community stakeholders to share their knowledge and expertise to solve local challenges and provides sound information to inform growth and sustainability debates and decision-making. Through its work, GGS will foster informed, civil public dialogue to find solutions to the most pressing issues relating to growth and change in the Gallatin Valley. Those issues are: 1) water quality and quantity; 2) land use; 3) agriculture and local foods; 4) transportation; 5) natural resources.
To get involved, please contact Wendy Weaver we...@greenstone-consulting.com or connect with Gallatin Growth Solutions on Facebook. Our new website, gallatingrowthsolutions.org, is coming soon!
ABOUT GALLATIN GROWTH SOLUTIONSThe Gallatin Valley has been the fastest-growing area in the state of Montana over the past decade; in fact, Gallatin County has been one of the fastest-growing counties in the entire country. Growth this rapid brings many opportunities, but it also comes with challenges, especially in regard to the sustainability of the unique and precious way of life and environment that makes this such a great place. Clearly, there is a need for an effective forum, a place for civil, informed, constructive dialogue, that includes the whole range of stakeholders in the Valley’s future: citizens, business, development interests, agriculture, conservationists, etc. Without such a forum, community decisions often lack the viewpoints of many of its citizens and miss opportunities for more effective solutions to growth issues.
GGS is a local group of community resource professionals, including engineers, builders, architects and other community development and natural resource professionals, working together to ensure that future generations can enjoy the Gallatin Valley’s natural beauty and abundant resources just as we do now.
