Ms. Lorene Childress

May 02, 1927  -  July 05, 2009

                 Funeral services for Ms. Lorene Childress, age 82, of Patrick Road, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, July 05, 2009 in the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted Wednesday, July 08, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Ms. Childress was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, the daughter of the late Tilman Newton & Ollie Williams Towry. She was a farmer, housewife and a member of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Childress in 2005; 3 sisters:  Evelyn Towry, Peggy Towry Phillips, Carolyn Towry Hornbuckle and 4 brothers:  Wilford, Garner, Orville & Virgil Towry. Survivors include 1 sister:  Marie Roland of Fayetteville, TN; 5 brothers:  Thomas Towry & wife: Ethel of Hildale, MI, Cletus Towry of Fayetteville, TN, Dallas Towry & wife: Hazel of Taylor, MI, Wade Towry & wife: Connie of Chicago, IL, Clyde Towry & wife: Betty of Fayetteville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Nell Fanning Willison

August 12, 1936  -  July 03, 2009

                 Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Fanning Willison, age 72, of Harvey, Illinois, formerly of Lincoln County, Tennessee who passed away July 03, 2009 in Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, Illinois will be conducted on Thursday, July 09, 2009 in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elora Cemetery. Mrs. Willison was a native of Jackson County, Alabama, the daughter of the late George Hurley & Bethel O. Fowler Fanning. She was a Housewife and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Ellsworth Willison in 2002 and 2 step-daughters: Deborah Jones & Mary Willison. Survivors include 3 daughters: Kathy Stafford of Elora, Tennessee, Sandra Mayer and Nancy Smith  both of Harvey, Illinois; 1 step-daughter: Linda Fowler of New Carlisle, Indiana; 2 sons: Douglas Jones of Lockport, Illinois and Gary Willison of New Lennox, Illinois; 3 step-sons: Kurt Willison of Blue Island, Illinois, Dan Willison & Alan Willison both of Wisconsin; a sister: Frances Matthews of Lake Placid, Florida; 7 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 08, 2009 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.    

 

Mrs. Ada Stone Gardner

September 23, 1920 - July 07, 2009

                  Ada Stone Gardner, 88 of Elora, TN, died Tuesday at her daughter’s home in Huntsville, AL.   She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse James Campbell; two sons, Joe Ray Campbell and James Milton Campbell; two step-sons, Robert Lee Gardner and L.T. Gardner; two step-daughters, Gail Mann and Cindy Gardner; two brothers, Franklin Stone and A.M. Stone; one sister, Birdie Buchanan; one great granddaughter, Mara Jade Bunch; and one step-granddaughter, Lisa Mann.  She is survived by her husband J.P. Gardner of Elora, TN; three daughters, Leona (BH) Jenkins of New Market, AL, Beatrice Campbell of Huntsville, AL and Chris (Doug) Alderman of Tampa, FL; three sons, Sonny Wayne (Pearl) Campbell of Flintville, TN, Harold (Faye) Campbell of Huntland, TN and Keith Campbell of Oklahoma City, OK; two step-sons, Malcolm (Violet) Gardner of Huntland, TN and Dwight (Patsy) Gardner of Elora, TN; two step-daughters, Helen (Carl) Rector and Darlene Brewer; two brothers, Glenn (Anita) Stone of Jacksonville, FL and Carl Stone of New Market, AL; one sister, Frances Forester of Columbia, CA; five special daughter/son in-laws, Jean Campbell, Linda Campbell, OkCha Campbell, Jesse Craig and Terry Thompson; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 36 step-great grandchildren; and 5 step-great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5  to 8 pm Thursday at Gallant Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Gardner officiating. Burial to be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Vanntown, TN. 

 

Mr. Nicky D. Steelman

                Funeral services for Mr. Nicky Douglas Steelman of Tullahoma, TN formerly of Fayetteville, who passed away at his residence on Wednesday July 08, 2009 will be conducted on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Don Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Steelman was a native of Lincoln County, TN, son of the late R.C. & Kathleen Howell Steelman. He worked Construction with Truette Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife: Christine Bell Steelman of Tullahoma, TN; 1 daughter: Tonya Britton & husband: Larry of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Chris Steelman of Manchester, TN & Brian Steelman of Fayetteville, TN; 2 step-sons Bobby Dickerson & wife: Christy of Manchester, TN and Johnny Dickerson & wife Crystal of Tullahoma,TN and 10 grandchildren: Torie, Kelsy, Weston, Gavin, Dylan, Treva, Robert, Bobby, Brandon, & Samantha; a host of other family and friends. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Sharpe, age 85, of  Lowell Drive, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Friday Morning, July 17, 2009 at the Lynchburg Care Center. April 02, 1993  -  July 18, 2009

                 Funeral services for Mr. Robert Berber-Brock, age 16, of South Lincoln Road, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, will be conducted on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor John Osier & Travis Lopeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Brock was a native of Brownsville, TX, son of Doug & Maria Berber Brock. He was a Student and a member of the Lighthouse Christian Church and the 24/7 Youth Group. In addition to his parents he is survived by 2 sisters: Sara and Ashley Brock of Fayetteville, TN; 2 brothers: Scott Brock of Fayetteville, TN, and Shawn Brock of Batesville, AR; 2 grandmothers: Teresa Berber of Brownsville, TX, and Velma Jenkins of Concord, AR; a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening, July 21, 2009 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Hale, age 85, of Elkwood Section Rd., Ardmore AL, who passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, AL. Rusty Lincoln and Rev. Charles Marable officiating. Burial will follow in the Gatlin Cemetery. The Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Hale was a native of Hazel Green, AL, son of the late Oliver Wilson & Flossie Downing Sanders Hale. A World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army & employee of the State of Alabama as a Security Guard at the I-65 Welcome Center. He was a member of the Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a Honorary Elder & 35 year Deacon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Mickey Aldridge; 4 sisters: Effie Spray, Bevie Williams, Blanchie Tanner, & Gladys Bevils; 2 brothers: Dewey & Amos Hale. Survivors include his wife: Minnie Bee Riddle Hale of Ardmore, AL; 5 daughters: Hilda Aldridge of Fayetteville, TN, Carolyn (Jimmie G) Reyer of Ardmore, AL, Dorothy (Ray) Anyan of Hazel Green, AL, June (Mike) Cowan of Taft, TN and Peggy (Dwight) Colston of Ardmore, AL; 2 sons: Larry (Robbie) Hale of Taft, TN, and Calvin (Tracy) Hale of Hazel Green, AL; 2 sisters: Linnie Bell Martin of Gurley, AL, & Rose (Lawson) Gulley of Flintville, TN; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
