Mrs. Nellie Frank Scanlen

January 24, 1927  -  April 04, 2010

                 Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Frank Scanlen, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, April 04, 2010, at her residence, will be conducted Wednesday, April 07, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Shields and Bro. Don Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Scanlen was a native of Moore Co., TN, the daughter of the late Frank & Flossie Bell Fears Metcalfe. She was a housewife. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son:  Donald Porter and 4 brothers:  Frank, Fred, Gary & W.R. Metcalfe. Survivors include her daughter:  Sandra Durham & husband: Rex of Fayetteville, TN; daughter-in-law:  Gayle Porter of Lynnville, TN; grandchildren:  Donny Porter, Beth Patterson, LaFonda Durham, Leslie Frame, Stephen Durham, Bryan Durham; great grandchildren:  Matt, Pride, Cain, Rylee, Katie, Lauren, Erika, Emma, Molley; sisters:  Edith Porter of Port Bolivar, TX, Betty Bethea of Clear Lake, TX; brothers:  Hulon Metcalfe of Tullahoma, TN, Clayton Metcalfe of San Antonio, TX, Hoover Metcalfe of Lynchburg, TN. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Ricky Lynn Wells

May 08, 1966  -  April 05, 2010

                 Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Lynn Wells, age 43, of Petersburg, TN, who passed away Monday, April 05, 2010, will be conducted Thursday, April 08, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Mr. Wells was a native of Bedford Co., TN, the son of Betty Whitsett Wells and the late Franklin Wells. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother:  Tommy Wells; sister:  Krista Wells and grandparents: Willie & Mary Lee Wells. Survivors include his daughters:  Whitney Henson, Kala Williams both of Lewisburg, TN; son:  Justin Wells of Lewisburg, TN; grandson: Jackson Wells of Lewisburg, TN; mother:  Betty Wells of Petersburg, TN; sisters:  Pam Warren & Lisa Ensey both of Shelbyville, TN; brothers:  Steve Wells of Fayetteville, TN, Hank Wells of Petersburg, TN, Randy Wells of Lewisburg, TN, Brian ‘Buck’ Wells of Shelbyville, TN, Jason “J.J.” Wells of Petersburg, TN and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

 

Mr. John Albert Malone

April 04, 1937  -  April 07, 2010

                 Funeral services for Mr. John Albert Malone, age 73, of Hazel Green, AL, who passed away Wednesday, April 07, 2010 at his residence, will be conducted Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Rusty Lincoln & Bro. Charles Marable officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery. Mr. Malone was the son of the late John Henry & Bertie Neeley Malone. He was the manager of Piggly Wiggly in Park City for 30 years and a member of the Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters:  Opaline West, Alma Jean Lewis and 1 brother:  H.B. Malone. Survivors include his wife: Peggy Malone of Hazel Green, AL; daughters:  Belinda Hargrove & husband: Dennis of Hazel Green, AL, Charlotte Yarbrough & husband: Kim of Harvest, AL; sons:  Curtis Malone, Johnny Malone both of Hazel Green, AL; grandchildren: Meagan Hargrove, Ivie Hargrove, Paige Hill, DeAnne Gilreath, Amanda Malone, Brandi Malone; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Mollie Layne

January 07, 1912  -  April 08, 2010

                 Funeral services for Mrs. Mollie Layne, age 98, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, April 08, 2010 at the Lincoln Skill Care Center, will be conducted Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. graveside in Medium Cemetery with Mike Layne officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Layne was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, the daughter of the late Samuel & Fannie Neice Renegar. She was a seamstress for Serbin Manufacturing for 25 years and a member of the Delina Church of God. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Roy T. Layne and 1 son:  Rabon Layne. Survivors include her daughters:  Elease Brown of Greenville, AL, Beverly Lowe & husband: Bob of Lewisburg, TN; son:  Toddy Layne & wife: Lucille of Fayetteville, TN; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Charlie Warden

December 24, 1926  -  April 11, 2010

                 Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Warden, age 83, of Taft, TN, who passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his residence, will be conducted Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Janell Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Mr. Warden was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, the son of the late William Ashley & Anna Ola Ervin Warden. He was a farmer and a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship Church. He is survived by his devoted wife:  Elizabeth Warden of Taft, TN; daughters:  Betty Warden of Fayetteville, TN, Alvada Sloan of Taft, TN, Alease Pigg of Fayetteville, TN; sons:  Charles Warden of Taft, TN, Billy Ray Warden of Hartselle, AL; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Orvil D. Moorehead

May 09, 1948  -  April 15, 2010

                 Funeral services for Mr. Dwight Moorehead, age 61, of Elora, TN, who passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elora Cemetery. Mr. Moorehead was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, the son of the late Robert & Eliza Miller Moorehead. He was an electrician. Survivors include his wife:  Betty Moorehead of Elora, TN; daughters:  Hope Umsted, Bridget Hill, Robin Garbin; step-children: Donna Randolph of Flintville, TN, Christy Clements of Athens, AL, Tony Martin of Flintville, TN, Judy Martin of McBurg, TN; sisters:  Willa Jones of Elora, TN, Juanita Stockbridge of Fayetteville, TN; brother:  Jerry Moorehead of Elora, TN; 7 grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Wayne McElroy

November 21, 1942  -  April 16, 2010

                 It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. Wayne McElroy, age 67, of Hazel Green, AL, who passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

                Funeral services for Mr. Wayne McElroy, age 67, of Hazel Green, AL, who passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at his residence, will be conducted Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Rice and Rev. Butch Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. McElroy was a native of Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Eugene & Clara Jane Patton McElroy. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the The Rock Church in Huntsville, AL. He is survived by his wife:  Jennie McElroy; children:  Ronnie McElroy & wife: Beth, Wendy Eaton & husband: Danny, Ted Dwyer & wife:  Jessica and Tammy McElroy; step-children: Josh Ramsey & wife: Cherie, Paul Edward Downam, III; brother:  Robert Eugene McElroy; niece:  Donna McElroy; great niece: Tiffany; 5 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
