Mr. J.P. Gardner

February 14, 1917  -  November 05, 2009

                 Funeral services for Mr. J.P. ‘Fire Bird’ Gardner, age 92, of Elora, TN, who passed Thursday, November 05, 2009 at the Southern TN Medical Center in Winchester, TN, will be conducted Sunday, November 08, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Mitchell Gardner & Bro. Malcolm Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gardner was a native of Alabama, the son of the late Charlie Isom & Viola Wilson Gardner. He was a boiler maker welder, an Army veteran and a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by children: L.T. Gardner, Robert Gardner, Cindy Gardner, Gail Mann; his first wife: Durah Gardner in 1990; his second wife: Ada Gardner in 2009; sisters: Odelle Kimbrough, Idora West; brothers: Herschel Gardner, Noel ‘Red’ Gardner, Luther Gardner, Alton Gardner and half-brother: Marvin Taylor. Survivors include daughters: Helen Rector & husband: Bo, Darlene Brewer all of Huntland, TN; sons: Malcolm Gardner & wife: Violet of Huntland, TN, Dwight Gardner & wife: Patsy of Elora, TN; step-daughters: Beatrice Campbell of Huntsville, AL, Chris Alderman of Tampa, FL, Leona Jenkins of New Market, AL; step-sons:  Harold Campbell of Huntland, TN, Sonny Campbell of Elora, TN, Keith Campbell of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters:  Bell Holt of Flintville, TN, Euthemia ‘Dean’ Reed of Elora, TN; brother: Albert Gardner of Elora, TN; special caregiver: Wilma Gifford; 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mr. S.R. Gill

September 26, 1924  -  November 07, 2009

                Funeral services for Mr. S.R. Gill, age 85, of Frankewing, TN, who passed away Saturday, November 07, 2009 at the Lincoln Care Center will be conducted on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Father Jose Kariamadam. Burial will follow in the Wright's Cemetery. Mr. Gill was a native of Lincoln County, TN the son of the late Leon (D. B.) & Etha Luna Gill. He was a Truck Driver. He is survived by his wife: Rosemary Tucher Gill of Frankewing, TN; a daughter: Mary Rose Wright of Mulberry, TN; 3 sons: Don Gill of Frankewing, TN, Mike 'Popeye' Gill of McBurg, TN, and Anthony 'Dago' Gill of Boonshill, TN; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 step-great-grandsons. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening, November 09, 2009 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Mary Jane Bragg

April 15, 1958  -  November 09, 2009

                 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Bragg, age 51, of Sophia, NC, who passed away Monday, November 09, 2009 at her residence, will be conducted Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Bragg was a native of Madison Co., AL, the daughter of the late Shelby Ray McElyea and the late Peggy Earline Schrimsher Hooper. She was an activities director for the Ashboro, NC Adult Senior Center. Survivors include her husband: Ronald Winton Bragg of Sophia, NC; sons:  Leonard Thorpe & Robert Thorpe both of Ashboro, NC; step-sons:  David Bragg of Athens, AL, Timothy Bragg of Ashboro, NC; granddaughter:  Sidney Page Thorpe; step-father:  Dwight Hooper of Hazel Green, AL; sister:  Bonnie Newson of Meridianville, AL; brother:  Shelby McElyea of Meridianville, AL. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Agnes Hale

July 04, 1931  -  November 10, 2009

                Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Hale, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at her residence, will be conducted Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Vann Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.  Mrs. Hale was a native of Madison Co., AL, the daughter of the late Lemmie Green & Clara Mae Jones Wilkerson. She was a seamstress for S&M Manufacturing Company and of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Houston Hale; 1 daughter: Wanda Burton; and 2 sisters: Mary Lou Davis & Birdie Bell. Survivors include 2 daughters:  Jan Posey of Fayetteville, TN, Melinda Dill of Nashville, TN; 2 sisters:  Julia Davis of Hazel Green, AL, Margie Ray of Arkansas; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
