Mr. Alfred T. Wilcott

It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. Alfred T. Wilcott, age 57, of Elora, TN, who passed away Wednesday, December 02, 2009 at the Lincoln Medical Center. His body has been donated to Union University. There are currently no services planned for Mr. Wilcott.

Mr. J.B. Amason

Funeral services for Mr. J.B. Amason, age 71, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Friday, December 04, 2009 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN, will be conducted Monday, December 07, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Basham, Rev. Rob Amason & Rev. Donnie Amason officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Mr. Amason was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the son of the late O.C. & Mary Gladys Counts Amason, a dairy farmer, an Army veteran and a member of the Flintville First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Christine Amason of Flintville, TN; 2 daughters: Beverly Kay Jackson of Fayetteville, TN, Summer Jackson of Clarksville, TN; 2 sons: Darryl Amason of Franklin, TN, Johnny Amason of Flintville, TN; 7 grandchildren: Hunter, Grayci, Hudson, Taydan, Maddox, Cabe & Elise; 2 brothers: Rev. Rob Amason of Lebanon, TN and Bro. Donnie Amason of Flintville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the J.B. Amason Memorial Fund at Flintville 1st Bapt. Church, PO Box 61, Flintville, TN, for playground equipment.

Mr. Harold Rodgers

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Rodgers, age 58, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Friday, December 04, 2009 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Monday, December 07, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Edwin Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Mr. Rodgers was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the son of Ruth Rodgers of Taft, TN and the late James Rodgers. He was a heavy machine operator. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by a brother: Danny Rodgers. Survivors include 1 daughter: Alice Carter & husband: Jamie of Flintville, TN; 1 son: Alan Rodgers of Fayetteville, TN; 3 grandchildren: Jordan Carter, Madison Carter, Nicholas Carter; mother: Ruth Rodgers of Taft, TN; 3 sisters: Darse Pheil of Clearwater, FL, Debra Dain, Ruby Wilson both of Fayetteville, TN and 1 brother: Tim Rodgers of Lynchburg, TN. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. Smitty Bradley

Funeral services for Mr. Smitty Bradley, age 54, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Saturday, December 05, 2009 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Tuesday, December 08, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John B. Neal officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Mr. Bradley was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the son of Gilbert & Helen Hambrick Bradley of Flintville, TN. He was a farmer and a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife: Patsy Gardner Bradley of Flintville, TN; daughters: Kelly Golden of Huntland, TN, Carrie Finchum of Belvidere, TN; sons: Lucas Bradley of Flintville, TN, Joshua Bradley of Huntland, TN, Dustin Bradley of Flintville, TN, Jonah Bradley of Belvidere, TN; step-daughter: Nicole Gardner of Decherd, TN; grandchildren: Ali, Maddux, Zeier, Lexie, Blair, Mica, Hannah, Bailey, Hunter & Hayden; and step-grandchildren: Deontay, Isaiah, Quinton, Alicia. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. John C. Williams, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, December 06, 2009 at his residence, will be conducted Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery. Mr. Williams was a native of Madison Co., AL, the son of the late George & Susie Maroney Williams. He worked on the assembly line for Amana, was an Army veteran and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife: Virginia Williams of Fayetteville, TN; daughters: Robbin Day of Franklin, TN, Debra McCormack of Downers Grove, IL, Kimberly Jo King of Argyle, TX; step-son: Chris Few; grandchildren: Jake King, Nathan Day, McKenzie Day, Nick King, Patrick McCormack, Michael McCormack; sisters: Aelise Cowart, Pauline Cobb, Hazeltine Wright, Euna Bullington; step-sisters: Ortha Cobb, Dortha Courtney, Mae Bydman and sister-in-law: Mildred Williams. Funeral services for Mr. Terry Stafford, age 55, of Elora, TN, who passed away Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Wilson and Bro. Bob Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Elora Cemetery. Mr. Stafford was a native of Franklin Co., TN, the son of the late Ernest & Mildred Sanders Stafford. He was an Electronic Technician and a member of the Donaldson Grove Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Bobby Joe Stafford in 2001. Survivors include his wife: Kathy Stafford of Elora, TN; 3 daughters: Teresa Stafford of Elora, TN, Angela Bryant & husband: Bobby Wayne of Fayetteville, TN, Rebecca Caldwell & husband: Jason of Elora, TN; 2 grandchildren: Daniel Gene Bryant, Chelsey Elizabeth Bryant; 2 sisters: Dortha Stewart, Mary Wimerly both of Winchester, TN and 2 brothers: Albert Stafford of Winchester, TN and Jerry Stafford of Tullahoma, TN. Mrs. Reba Watson

Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Watson, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at her residence, will be conducted Friday, December 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Ronald Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery beside her late husband: Hubert Watson. Mrs. Watson was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, the daughter of the late Elmer Carl & Mary Elizabeth Teeters Mitchell. She was a cosmetologist and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church. Survivors include 2 sisters: Jane Isbell of Huntsville, AL, Opalene Hovis of the Coldwater Community; 1 niece: Judy Smith of Athens, AL; 2 nephews: John Wayne Hovis & Fred Hovis both of the Coldwater Community. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lela Gertrue Hames
February 19, 1914 - December 19, 2009
Lela Gertrue Cantrell Hames, age 95, of Hazel Green, AL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Hames; son: Nelson Hames: brother: G.W. Cantrell and Alvie Cantrell; grandson: Thomas Wade Hames and parents: Addie and George Cantrell. Survivors include sons: Wayne Hames, Tommy & Carolyn Hames; daughter: Kay & Jerry Cooke; brother: James Cantrell; sisters: Dessie Satterfield, Lessie & Herman Hunt; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will follow in New Sharon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eula Taylor Sawyers, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009 in the Lincoln Care Center will be conducted on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Johnson & Rev. Winfred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Sawyers was a native of Cullman, AL, the daughter of the late William Walter & Ave Dunaway Wells. She was a Housewife and a member of the West End Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: J. W. Taylor who passed away in 1975. Survivors include 3 daughters: Christine Amason of Flintville, TN, Luci Womble of Smyrna, TN and Alice Faye Waters of Fayetteville, TN; 3 sons: Edward A. Taylor of Fayetteville, TN, Charles W. Taylor of Flintville, TN, and Allen Taylor of Huntland, TN; 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weir was a native of Marshall Co., AL, the daughter of the late Louis & Lou Johnson Shubert. She retired from S & M Manufacturing and was a member of the Flintville First Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Comer Lee Weir; daughter: Barbara Weir Moon; sons: Doyle & Jimmy Weir and a grandson: Larry Moon. Survivors include 2 daughter-in-laws: Loyce Moffett Weir, Joyce Thompson Weir both of Fayetteville, TN; brother: James & Juanita Shubert of Fayetteville, TN; sisters: Audrey Shubert Jackson of Horn Lake, MS, Mary Fannie Shubert Corder of Huntsville, AL; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
