Mr. Albert E. Hunter

Funeral services for Mr. Albert E. Hunter, age 73, who lived on Old Quick Road, Fayetteville; passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 at his residence; will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at 2:00 o'clock in the Chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Steve Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Stateline Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009 from 5 til 8 P.M. in the Gallant-Riverview Chapel. Mr. Hunter was a native of Madison County, Al.; son of the late Elvie & Bertha Spray Hunter; he was a farmer; served in the U.S. Army; & a member of the Plainview Church of Christ. In addition to his parents: he is preceded in death by his first wife: Joyce Preston Hunter; 3 Brothers: Homer, Billy, & Cecil Hunter. Survivors include: his wife: Betty Corder Hunter of Fayetteville; 3 Daughters: Cheryl Hunter & Jim Erdner of Toney, Al.; Jill Hunter Fowler of Madison, Al.; Debbie Corder & Richard Tucker of Fayetteville; 4 Sisters: Evelyn Layne & Linda Sibley both of Hazel Green, Al., Pauline Campbell of Harvest, Al.; & Gwen Potter of New Market, Al.; 2 Brothers: Willard Hunter & Collins(Tutor) Hunter both of Hazel Green, Al.; 7 Grandchildren: Joseph, Sara, Murphie, Taylor, Evan, Jaime, & Teresa; 3 Great Grandchildren: Tucker, Madelyn, & Emma.

Mr. Thomas A. Holland

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas A. ‘Jimmy’ Holland, age 69, of Ardmore, TN, who passed away Saturday, August 08, 2009 in the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Clutts & Bro. Roger Berry officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Mr. Holland was a native of Dellrose, TN, the son of Evelyn Minor Holland & the late William Cecil Holland. He was a farmer and dairyman. Along with his father, Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his wife: Anneva Holland; 1 son: Timothy Scott Holland & 1 brother: William Wayne Holland. Survivors include 1 daughter: Melissa H. Mitchell of White House, TN; 2 grandchildren: Rachael & Alesha; mother: Evelyn Minor Holland of Ardmore, TN; 1 sister: Sarah H. Griggs of Nashville, TN and 2 brothers: Cecil Ray Holland & Joe D. Holland both of Ardmore, TN. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. Mark Marchlinski

It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. Mark Marchlinski, age 55, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Lincoln Care Center. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Marchlinski was a native of Nanticoke, PA, the son of Theodosia Kaminski Marchlinski and the late Francis Edward Marchlinski. He was an assistant professor of Art at UAH in Huntsville, AL. He is survived by his wife: Kathy Marchlinski of Flintville, TN; 2 sons: James Francis Marchlinski, Mark Stanislaus Marchlinski both of Flintville, TN; mother: Theodosia Marchlinski of Philadelphia, PA; sisters: Mary Ann Krasucki of Nashua, New Hampshire, Andrea Rollman of Hawaii and brother: Francis Edward Marchlinski of Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Department of Art & Art History at UAH in Huntsville, AL.

Mrs. Lila Mae Curtis

Funeral services for Mrs. Lila Mae Curtis, age 83 of Akron, Ohio, who passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009, will be conducted Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. graveside in Brown’s Temple Church with Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Curtis was a native of Fayetteville, TN, the daughter of the late Levi & Leola Curtis. She was a licensed cosmetologist, a nurse at the VA Hospital in Brecksville, OH for many years and a member of the Wesley Temple AME Zion Church in Akron, OH. She was the niece of Lonzo & George Curtis. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Sara Rucker, Helen Jean Coleman and 1 brother: Pastor Frank ‘Pete’ Curtis. Survivors include her son: Kevin Nigel (Andrea) Adams; granddaughter: Jacqueline Dee ‘Little Lila’ & her mom: Elizabeth Ann; nephews: James & Dwight; Nieces: Denise, Elaine, Constance and Tara; brother-in-law: Dumas Adams; nephew: Michael; nieces: Deborah & Alma; a host of cousins and other family and friends. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Brown’s Temple Church.

Mrs. Hicks was a native of Shaw, MS, the daughter of the late Clenzy Manning, Sr. and the late Ada Lee Pitts Whitaker. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin Hicks, Sr.; a granddaughter: Nakevia Manning; 3 brothers: Clenzy Manning, Jr., Willie & Bennie Manning & 1 sister: Christina Manning. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Hillis was a native of Madison Co., AL, the daughter of the late Dave & Lizzie Holder Painter. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Hoyte Hillis in 1975. Survivors include 2 daughters: Doris Perryman of Lewisburg, TN, Cindy Pitts of Fayetteville, TN; 1 granddaughter: Ashley & Derrick Lankford of Hazel Green, AL; 1 great grandson: Hayden Lankford of Hazel Green, AL. Buddy Payne officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gulledge was a native of Montgomery, AL, the daughter of the late Walter & Maude Carr. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Richard Gulledge. Survivors include 2 daughters: Carol J. Attilio of Fayetteville, TN, Sarah Long of Louisiana; 2 sons: James T. Gulledge of Fayetteville, TN, William Gulledge of Frankewing, TN; 1 sister: Nancy Karlson of Tinonium, Maryland; 2 brothers: Walter Carr of Pensacola, FL & Richard Carr of Maryland; 7 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
