dropdownlist with id is not recognised in spec

I am using Galen 2.3.4 with java maven project.

I have the following in my specs file

ddlWorkWeek                 id      ddlWorkWeek

Where ddlWorkWeek is a dropdownlist. Any dropdown list (with css or xpath) says is not visible on page though it is present.

• "ddlWorkWeek" is not visible on page

Can someone help to solve this issue?
