Take a look at these. I suspect you think they look suspiciously like 301's? you would be right but the price difference would make your eye's and ears water. £300.00 for a refoam amongst other price difference's. Snake oil and all things HiFi.

AN make a huge range of speakers - but all really just the J & E models with a choice of veneers, innards, wiring, etc.
Their most expensive speaker is the AN Type E Sogon which is wired in silver and an eye-watering cost of over USD120,000.  It is advertsided as containing over 40 pounds of silver.
It looks to me as if the seller has attempted to retro-convert a pair of old Snells (AN J & E are derived from Snells but which were aimed squarely at the budget end of the market) to AN equivalent on the cheap.
Good luck with that as they say...

OK, forty pounds of silver is worth about $9,400.

Is the rest of the speaker worth $110,00?

Just askin’.  The real Snells were big boys over here is the US.  The Type A was a 300 lbs. three way for less than 20 grand when new.

That was the flagship statement product.

AN’s PQ would probably argue it’s not the size of the silver – it’s how it is used. Eye rolling smile
Re the Sogon, I suppose there will always be something suitably expensive for the only-the-best-money-no-object buyer.  Like Naim’s ‘Statement’ amplifier.  Or Nordost’s outrageous ‘Odin’ wires.
That last squeeze of fidelity juice is only for the very well-heeled.
