Another pair of Gales on Market Place. GS401A. Looks like foams replaced. No mention of crossovers. Need the front and rear painted. Asking a lot.

Neither of the above is associated with me. Just mention FYI.
Cheers

Grossly overpriced and in poor condition....even Dave agrees and after all he has been restoring countless Gales for almost 30 years now. Most people prefer the Chrome caps anyway. So happy to have a mint pair of Gale 402 with Chrome caps. Can't get much better, well of course it can...if you invest a 4-5 digit amount ! ;))

The 402s above are interesting. His asking price is AUD$850. The 401s are a joke. Look crappy. I recently bought a pair of 402s for$300 (asking price was $600AUD). Included steel stands. I'm renovating in steps. But sound so good that I haven't bothered with replacing caps as yet. I still have my 401b pair which look almost like new and are used regularly.

The world has gone mad over everything from cars to HiFi, especially vintage gear.
I noticed the other day that a Technics cassette deck I have from around 1980 is being sold on a site in Germany for around 5000 euros.
The trouble is people are just buying stuff because it’s the thing to do, it’s the modern day stamp collecting to have that rare car, HiFi, etc etc.

The GS402 speakers relisted at AUD $800. Probably not unreasonable if you are located in WA. Not my 402s which sound great and being used in my garage. Still haven't done up crossovers as the speakers sound so good as is.
