Ideas from "Passion for the Craft" Meeting: 1/25/2011

Here are a few of the things we kicked around at today's meeting.

Code Katas:
* These are a great opportunity to improve our craft!
* Share the information at morning stand-ups this week.
* Make sure everyone brings a laptop - this is hands-on.

We should do the next craft day on Monday, March 21.
* More people can be there (many work 4x10 days).
* It should be far enough away from Agile and Beyond
(3/12/2011) to avoid "conference fatigue".

We could do a "simulation" where people:
* Change roles during the course of the solution.
* Only have certain areas of expertise available.
* Need the help of content team members.

We should do open spaces talks at the next craft day.
* Anyone can sign up.
* Try to define (or argue about) "the cengage way to..."
* Possible sessions include "CI", "Emergent Design"
* Another possibility is "pushbutton deployment" - can
we include the Ops team in this?
* Best bet is during lunch, which we'll make a little bit
longer, then follow with a recap of what people
discussed during their open spaces talk.
