We need to decide on the battle engine details. Here is what I
propose:

Units have following attributes:
sprite OR sprite-mapped class
hp
mv
str
ap
Units have the following abilities:
attack (depletes ap)
move (depletes mv)
(we can add more if we have time)

battle control flow:
first connected player plays first
allow player who is in control move or attack with any unit until
they click or initiate [done]
switch to next player
check for game-end conditions
loop

overall game control flow:
choose local or remote game/server
choose scenario
wait for players to join and ready up
when all players ready up: battle
return to server selection menu

That looks good.
I was planning a mod system that allows us to code attributes into a unit - so a fighter would have perhaps hp, strength, agility - but a mage would have energy, hp, concentration.

Actions would be the same thing, the gui will simply query the unit to determine which actions it could take.

I like rb[0]'s idea. It adds variation to the characters
