Hi Everyone,

We have been using our login service for quite sometime now and all
seems to be going well - for the most part.

Today I got a message from a customer saying that they could not login
into the version of the application.
Which was indeed correct; for the past 30 minutes this following error
was being created;

Cannot perform web service invocation send. The fault returned when
invoking the web service operation is:<br> <pre>AxisFault faultCode:
faultSubcode: faultString: coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:
[java.lang.ClassNotFoundException :
com.palcare.loginService.loginResult][java.lang.ClassCastException :
com.palcare.loginService.loginResult cannot be cast to
java.lang.Class] faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {http://
xml.apache.org/axis/}hostname:palcarenz ''</pre> <br>The error
occurred on line 416.

The trouble is that the error doesn't providea lot of detail - for
the purposes of finding the root cause of the issue.

Deleting the WSDL from the CFADMIN, got everything back into a working
order - but as you can imagine we're keen to find out why it happened.

BTW, No code had been changed on the Production server - it just
simply stopped working.

Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

Gavin.

Hi Gavin

Would you be able to give us an idea of how you've deployed your service
across servers? Are you running CF on two separate servers, with the
same version of your CFC on both or are you running it virtually on a
single machine?

Hi Phil,

It is run on the same machine in a virtual host / different DNS name etc.

We (now) do have a separate instance for production and staging - so that initial mismatch error that you and I chatted about recently is no longer issue.
Interestingly I found this via our good friend Mr. Google - though the there seems to be answer as to why it occurs - just confirmation that it is happening to other people and isn't galaxy specific.
