Hi,

Running autogen.sh I got stuck in the following part:

checking for GSTREAMER_VIDEO... configure: error: Package requirements
(gstreamer-video-0.10 >= 0.10) were not met:

No package 'gstreamer-video-0.10' found

I'm on Ubuntu 9.04, and there is no package name like gstreamer-video
neither another one which contains such file or library. I've
installed libgstreamer0.10-0 and libgstreamer0.10-dev but the problem
persists.

Please any hint on this will be appreciated.

Hi,

Thank you for replying.

libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0 is already the newest version.

I already have it installed. The same for it's development package.

Thanks again.

Does that mean "Thanks, it works now" or "Thanks, but I had it
installed so it has to be something else"? Kinda hard to tell :)

Right, it wasn't so clear xD
I meant that I had installed that package already, and also it's
libraries but the problem persist.
So it has to be something else which I can't figure out so far.

Thanks in advance for further help.

In that case you are doing something wrong, since the package does
contain it. You need both the normal and -dev package.

You just have to make sure the following packages are installed:

libgstreamer0.10-0
libgstreamer0.10-dev
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev

There are no other dependencies for this. If it still does not work for you, it means there is something wrong with your packages or installation somehow.

Make sure you have the following files in your PKG_CONFIG_PATH
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/gstreamer-0.10.pc
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/gstreamer-video-0.10.pc

and there should be a lot more too:
gst-python-0.10.pc              gstreamer-interfaces-0.10.pc
gstreamer-0.10.pc               gstreamer-net-0.10.pc
gstreamer-app-0.10.pc           gstreamer-netbuffer-0.10.pc
gstreamer-audio-0.10.pc         gstreamer-pbutils-0.10.pc
gstreamer-base-0.10.pc          gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.pc
gstreamer-cdda-0.10.pc          gstreamer-riff-0.10.pc
gstreamer-check-0.10.pc         gstreamer-rtp-0.10.pc
gstreamer-controller-0.10.pc    gstreamer-rtsp-0.10.pc
gstreamer-dataprotocol-0.10.pc  gstreamer-sdp-0.10.pc
gstreamer-fft-0.10.pc           gstreamer-tag-0.10.pc
gstreamer-floatcast-0.10.pc     gstreamer-video-0.10.pc

Perhaps your PKG_CONFIG_PATH is not set correctly to /usr/lib/pkgconfig or whatever yours should be.

Hope this helps, alas it is not a problem with the build scripts.

You were so right. I'd missed libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev
Now it compiles just fine. Although I'm concern about the summary telling

* Platforms:
- GNOME (no)

Should I pass some argument to autogen? Am I missing some library?

Thanks a lot for the help. Bye the way. I'm so excited about you guys
getting your hands back to code. I hope to see nice improvements
specially in MSN protocol.
I'm continue helping debugging and testing.

Best regards.

Actually, GNOME platform specific options are not yet available. The
app does not require GNOME libs yet.

We do plan to do GNOME integration as much as we can to make it part
of the GNOME desktop. But right now, we have a lot more stuff we are
working on. It will happen soon.
