possibility of item trades and more storage?

with all the various gun types you can make in this game, wouldn't it be beneficial to be able to trade the guns you've made with others to share the best ones with each other.
Also, would it be possible to have some form of inventory and/or a larger bank?  there are so many gun types that there's simply not enough room for all of them.  maybe give the option to buy additional bank slots with credits?

Good suggestions. The whole bank interface could be a lot better. As for trades, an easy start could be a "drop weapon" option, which would drop the gun and anyone could pick it up.

but that would mean you end up with one less gun you can use, unless you add in an inventory.  you could carry more guns, but only use the three you set up at a station, or something like that.  Also, with the drop weapon option, you might be able to spam the basic gun by dropping a bunch of those, if you're able to drop equipped weapons.

more ideas for improvements:
*keymapping for weapon stats (R possibly), galaxy map (M), inventory if such a menu is implemented (I) and ship stats (C).
*A use for the Monoliths.  Bring it three(3) guns and the monolith takes traits from each at random and creates a new gun based off them.
*Ambient space creatures.  Not really a nessessity, but it could be fun to see space jellyfish floating around in the background. :P

Since weapon are randomly generated and one may find several before reaching a station, picking up items should put them in storage.

Then, from that storage, you'll be able to preview how they fire, equip the ones you like, use upgrades.

Then, at the station, instead a 'scrap weapon' you'll have a 'sell' interface to sell the upgrades and weapons you don't want.

Only thing I have to add is to give any weapon equipped through the storage a few seconds for "installing" it before you can fire.  this should prevent people from just keeping the window open and switching between twenty something weapons during a fight.

With the ship weapon limit, we wanted to force weapon evolution where people would only keep the very best weapons. But I agree with Pablo said, there could be a higher limit. It would require a more compact method of representing weapons though. Even with just 3 in the ship and 3 in the bank it is hard to remember which weapon does what.

Oh and good idea Chris on enforcing an install time, if we do indeed make the ship able to store many weapons.

If it is hard to remember what a weapon does, why not give the ability to name your guns?  that way you can click then in the inventory or bank something, select an option to rename it, and write a little note.  Honestly, how much easier would it be if you could open the bank and see the guns you labeled as "Wave" or "Long Distance Mines" sitting in there?  would make sorting them easier, to.

Ahh good point. We have had several requests for that, and it is probably the easiest way to remember. ;)
