Currently still trying to wrap my head around the weapons lab. Been playing the missions, but they don't really cover it as much as I'd like. Is there any kind of wiki out there for GAR yet?

Mostly want to know about the isotope weapons. Does the different weapons change the firing pattern? or does it also affect damage? So far, I've been getting the same damage done even when using the basic weapons compared to any drops I got.

I've seen a few wikis out there, but not very complete. Briefly:

- the graphs on the screen are neural networks
- adjusting the connections that lead to Red Green Blue affect color
- adjusting the connections that lead to VX VZ will affect velocity and patterns
- the functions like Sin, Cos, Tan are different nodes

There are potentially infinite configurations of the graphs, so the only way to figure it out is experiment If you want way more info on the weapon generation check the research page out:

I agree with the fact that the missions didn't do the weapon system any justice. The missions were great for learning the basics and I actually learned a lot from them, but the only thing that feels left out was how the weapons work and how to customize a weapon.

From what I noticed (I may be wrong) nothing on the weapon affects the damage, it seems damage is based on your level and ship. I was level 20 in a level 10 zone with the starter ship and was killing enemies in 5-10 shots, but once I bought the level 20-30 zone ship I was killing enemies in 1 hit. Mods will also affect this.

Yes the isotopes you pick up don't affect damage. Just patterns and colors. Damage is affected by (1) ship type, (2) weapon reactor item, and (3) gunnery mod.
