Gainesville has a lot of great events, by BOKitchens, Citizens Co-op, UF Sustainability Office, and many others. The Farm to Restaurant initiative is more than a series of events - there is a lot cooking behind the scenes. You may have noticed how many local restaurants are now proudly offering food from local farms. And there have been a series of annual Farm to Restaurant workshops, and a certified BOK kitchen is in the works. Restaurants are an important component of an expanded local foods 'system', along with farmers markets, CSA's, farm to schools, etc.
