JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
Must be able to follow instructions in order to: Assemble and install solar mounting equipment,
make roof penetrations for attachment of rail mounting systems, lift, set 30-50 lb solar panels to
rails on rooftops, seal roof penetrations and any other procedures that are required during
installation to ensure proper weatherproofing; Connect electrical wiring between panels, arrays
and junction boxes; Install combiner boxes and inverters as needed; Coordinate with managers,
foreman and fellow crew members on start times, meal times, work distribution, and details of
each individual installation. May be required to enter tight spaces such as attics or under
building crawl spaces in order to run wiring and perform tasks. An installation crew member is
self motivated to determine the next step of the installation and do it; He or she is physically fit,
agile and feels comfortable on rooftops, no matter how high. An installation Crew Member is
familiar with power tool operation, is able to move an extension ladder, knows how to be safe
under construction site circumstances and maintains exemplary professionalism and courtesy –
especially while at customer job sites.

Typical Tasks:
1) Installs and performs minor repairs to photovoltaic systems, inverters, wiring, batteries or any
other related components of a solar system.
2) Confers daily (during installations) with managers and fellow crew members to determine
order of operations and ensure quality workmanship.
3) Communicates with managers and fellow crew members to resolve problems and
perform on-the-job system diagnosis.
4) Assists in maintaining daily materials replenishment list.
5) Assists in organization and up keep of work trailers and all tools involved with installations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH HEIGHTS. Must have
knowledge of power tool usage as well as how to navigate safely within a construction site.
Must be mechanically inclined - possessing both talent and experience in the realm of how
things work and are put together. Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to
arrive at the office on time. Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions and
under the duress of being on a rooftop.

Knowledge of electrical circuits as well as building and construction is desirable. Must be able
to problem solve using critical thinking, even in the absence of direct supervision. Must have
the ability to communicate clearly and learn quickly. Must also have the ability to maintain
concentration in order to work safely and efficiently through to completion of an installation.

Education and Experience Requirements: People in this position must have a high school
diploma or GED or equivalent.
