Tohelp ensure your success in making these small batch chocolate stuffed churro donuts, we're going to walk through the significant steps in the process together, starting with making the choux pastry.

Churros are made with pte choux (aka choux pastry), a very light, eggy pastry dough. Choux pastry is made on the stovetop by cooking flour, butter, and water (and sometimes milk) until a dough forms. The cooked dough is then cooled slightly before eggs are added. The more moisture you can cook/steam out of the dough, the more eggs you can add (which will make for a lighter pastry). I mix the eggs into the dough using a stand mixer in my recipe, but you can easily do it by hand using a wooden spoon, just be prepared for an arm workout! The eggs transform the dough into something truly magical, making it glossy and smooth.

In the case of these small batch chocolate stuffed churro donuts, the mixture is then transferred into a pastry bag with a large open star tip (I use an Ateco 867) and then piped into circles. You'll pipe a thin base layer of the batter, load it up with chocolate, pipe another layer on top, and then place them into the freezer. Once frozen solid, you're ready to start frying and rolling them in cinnamon sugar!

The chocolate dipping sauce is insanely easy to make! Simply combine all of the ingredients except for the vanilla in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, you'll reduce the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for about 1 minute. Then you can remove the sauce from the heat, stir in the vanilla, and ta-da! Easy, chocolate dipping sauce that tastes infinitely better than the store-bought stuff.

So raise your hands if you are a churros lover!! Well, I have to admit that this sinful, delicious full of butter and cinnamon is my and my kid's weakness. There I have said it out LOUD. Yes, we do understand that it has butter and sugar, however, we control the quality and quantity of the ingredients that go into it and it's not fried like the ones available in the stores. At TBRTM, we believe that fresher the ingredients, better the final food product. For this recipe, we used a specific cinnamon that is fresh and 100% natural. You can get it here. This no-fry baked churros recipe is a healthier twist to the original deep fried recipe.

Ever since my boys have tasted churros, they wanted me to make it at home for them. The weather is getting better and soon my kids will enjoy playing outside in the neighborhood. Summer is the time when we usually worry about out kids eating and drinking properly so that they have enough energy to go through the day. While that was a simple request (of making churros), with both my boy's activities and with endless home chores, this request seemed like a really big one. It indeed took a long time in the making and it happened one evening when all my boys hubby and kids were asleep and my mind was still awake, these Mini Churros Donuts were born. This mini churros recipe is one of the easiest recipe ever.

Kids being kids look forward to different treats and I take an effort to have something healthier than the store-bought stuff. My kids are not crazy about candies and they like to try different things and hence it becomes a bit easier for me to introduce different flavors and ingredients to them. As they say, everything in moderation is good for you and we do indulge in some sweetness once in a while.

Hi Radha, yes you can use king Arthur flour. We have not tried freezing them. But yes you can without the cinnamon sugar and butter coating. Hope this helps. Do share your feedback with us after you make it.

Hi kristen, if you are using regular size donut pan the temperature remains the same but bake it for 15-18 mins. Keep an eye on then after 15 minutes. Poke a toothpick and check if done.E joy this delicious recipe.

Uhm wow, just wow! Made these tonight for cinco de mayo and I had to force myself to stop eating them, the batch ending up making 24 and no joke I could have eaten them all in one sitting. Definitely a recipe to keep for future use again and again!!!

Hi Siri , I used this flour to make it -free-mamas-flour-almond-blend-64-oz/?gclid=CjwKCAjwpIjZBRBsEiwA0TN1ryDZ1_5gXCddgc-0dQnZOtnpGAaKpQl3TF5-vZlXkdP4khJCLzy8whoCQ_YQAvD_BwE

you can use any gluten-free flour ( baking mix ) to make them.

Using a big cinnamon stick to display the donuts is such an awesome idea. I'm going to steal that! I can envision dipping the cinnamon in coffee while snacking on these delicious looking mini churros.

Churro donuts are going to be tastiest the day they are baked, but will keep, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and stored at room temperature, for up to 2 days. I do not recommend freezing these donuts.

Hi, may I just ask what you mean by all purpose flour? I am in the UK and we have self raising flour, plain flour, also bread flour, which of these would i use. Im looking forward to trying these!! Many thanks Jane

We use a donut pan from Wilton but any brand will work. Here is a link to the one we use: Wilton Donut Pans. These pans work well because they are non-stick and just the right size. The silicone pans also work well.

The baked churro donut is all about the cinnamon! There is cinnamon in the batter and more cinnamon in the coating. So much cinnamon goodness! Our personal preference is Ceylon or Saignon cinnamon because it has a deeper flavor, but any cinnamon will work.

You can make a batch of our decadent warm 10-minute Hot Fudge Sauce or our Easy Salted Caramel Sauce to serve alongside these churro donuts and then save the leftovers for your next bowl of ice cream.

Whilst the dough is proofing, we will be making a caramel custard filling that will please also the most demanding palates. So, wether you like your Doughnuts plain or filled, there will be choice for everyone!

And to wrap up this session, we will prepare some classic Churros, made of piped choux pastry and deep fried. We will take this Spanish and Portuguese street food tradition to the next level, by rolling churros in cinnamon sugar and dipping them into a luscious chocolate ganache sauce.

*Minimum age*

Unless booked as a private session, this class requires a minimum age of 14-years-old for attendance. Exceptions to this age requirement must be agreed in advance. However, everyone in the kitchen needs to have their own individual paid spot regardless of age.

You get a personal sitting wolf seal of approval from baked donuts Mike. Hahaha. I'm still in shock that you don't like donuts. Have you tried Doughnut Plant (there's one in LES, one is Chelsea)?? They are like SUPER amazing. You need to start cranking out some Paleo donuts!

Happy doughnut day debut, Chris!

You beat me to it. I have been secretly feeling quite envious of all the baked doughnut blogging pros out there but STILL haven't got my own pan yet to join the club. Soon.

Love the simple and yet 'with a little something extra' approach here you got with that brown butter and cinnamon. ?

OK, seriously? I'm freaking out. I have had a donut (sorry) pan on my Amazon wish list for 2 years now but was skeptical about baked donuts. Congrats -- you have convinced me to take the plunge. You rock!

I've made these one time (so far!) and they were super easy and super delicious! I shared with extended family and were told by all who ate them that they were amazing. I love baking and just recently got into testing many donut recipes. This one is going down in stone ? Thank you!!

With baked goods I do like to have a base recipe which has all the chemistry figured out and which I can add flavors and twists to as I work. So, I was inspired by the standard donut recipe but I wanted churros. Or at least churro flavors since I was making churro donuts and not the straight, star-shaped pastries we all know and love as churros.

Starting from that recipe I added some cinnamon and vanilla to the batter, and decided to brown the butter. Browned butter adds so much wonderful flavor to baked and I highly recommend you give it a try!

This is a great basic recipe to have, you can use it to fill your donuts with pastry cream, nutella or jam. You can also switch up the churro topping for powdered sugar, or granulated sugar. And there you go, a brand new recipe idea!

I feel donuts, vamped up donuts mostly, have really come into the spotlight the past few years. I mean, they are sought after destinations for tourist or just donut connoisseurs. The flavors of donuts have gotten ridiculous lately. Have you seen the flavors out there? Brioche donut topped with chocolate mini balls from Bouchon Bakery in California and chocolate cake donut with a pink marshmallow glaze from Voodoo Doughnut in Portland.

With my favorite foodie holiday approaching (hello Cinco de Mayo!), I thought to reinvent a classic Mexican dessert, Churros! With a dessert that is doughy and covered in cinnamon and sugar, who can say no to that?!

But the donuts just seemed bare. It got me thinking of the irresistible, warm and buttery trips I took to the mall when I was younger, indulge in the pretzel shops cinnamon sugar coated donut and dunked it into their cream cheese sauce. Perfection.

When it comes to breakfast - you either can go sweet or savory. And when I think of sweet, I think of donuts - from strawberry glazed donuts to banana donuts to funfetti donuts to double chocolate donuts.
