Especiallyas couch co-op experiences? I just noticed that there was a third released as well! Wow. I was looking for games to play with my brother, and on the Wii U, but now that I realize it is on the PS4 as well, I'd probably get them on there. So, with all the games, do you recommend them? Take away the fact you probably don't know the type of games I like, and simply say whether you liked them and would recommend them please, taking into consideration both as a singular experience, and a cooperative one. I really only know that it's a side-scroller; it has to do with puzzles (and some combat?); it can be a cooperative experience; you choose through three characters and it's all fantasy-looking, and that Brad played them. I seem to remember him liking them, and rechecking the Trine pages, it shows he gave the first a five star, the second a four star, and only had a quick look of the third (why no review?) Yeah, that's all I know about the game. Alright, thanks.
Yes, my buddies and I played these online together. 1 and 2 specifically. 3 we never visited as word was the game fell short, but maybe one day we will. But the first two were really fun to play together. Nothing was super difficult, some control things here and there to get used to, but overall, we had a great time.
I voted yes, but it's a very lukewarm yes, and only with 3-player co-op. It's got many different bits (puzzles, platforming, combat), but none of them are particularly good. I'd recommend playing other games if there are only 2 players.
The first one was an excellent PC platformer in its year. Since then, with Meat Boy and Spelunky, the bar has been raised to where Trine is still charming and has some ingenuity, but it doesn't play as tightly as I want it to.
I played a lot of Trine 2 it with my friend on PC, but we got bored of it and didn't finish it. It's not a bad game, but it wasn't my kind of game. Ask your brother if he would enjoy this kind of game, if he says yes I would give it a shot if it's on sale.
Yeah it's fun. One point I think worth pointing out for the local co-op on PC is that it's very easy to set up and use multiple types of controllers. I just realized that this is not an easy thing to accomplish since so many multiplayer games are not this flexible.
I tried multiple times to get into Trine 2 especially, on my own and with a friend. It's just not something that can hold my attention long enough. Yeah , the graphics are pretty neat for a 2d indie game. But i felt like the combat parts were always weak and some of the puzzles didn't feel smart, just finicky.
apart from trine 3 is there any other games out there like trine 1 and 2, me and the fiancee started playing these recently and find them very entertaining and fun, we play local co op and always end up in tears laughing
For co-op fun, the first thing that comes in my mind is the little big planet platform games, but those unfortunately were only on playstation console. Played countless hours with my sister and bro. Still worth it though could play them again, since also infinite co-op levels made by community.
What do you mean? I was able to finish the last level of ibb&obb with my co-op partner, though it was really infuriating with reaction time this level required. Him living across the ocean probably didn't help with it either.
Battleblock and Castle Crashers are both a lot of fun, albeit with really crude [mostly poop- and fart-related] humor. The gameplay seems to be sort of a mixed bag, some people really like it, some really don't.
It's so fun. I played through the whole game with my friend and we laughed really hard at the animations. We're also enjoying Tiny Brains right now but it's a buggy game. Another one I would recommend is ibb and obb but sometimes we find the puzzles to be quite hard and gave up on the game.
Gauntlet The Dark Legacy is like Trine in which you are playing it with 3 other friends and you go around and "kind of" solve puzzles. Its just a really fun co op game and there are some puzzle mechanics added.
I never got to play the second game, but the original was ****ing awesome. Highly recommend. Though look into ways to play the Mega Drive release of that game (extra levels were available only in that version).
If you decide to give the second one a try, use an emulator for the SNES version. Releases for PC and CD-based consoles boasted prerendered 3D graphics, which looked impressive for the time but aged badly. Pixel-art of the SNES version still shines today and better fits with the style of the first game.
Skyrim. You just have to find the proper mod, I'm sure it exists.
Apart from that, Steam has a cool feature (that you have to check manually because some recommendations have nothing to do with the original game)
Oooo...I saw Brothers in that list. That's a pretty cool game. It's sort of intended for one person to control both brothers with a single controller, BUT...my son and I decided to play co-op on a single controller...I had the left half, which controlled one brother, and he had the right half. It was a unique and super-fun gaming experience.
I have been playing games with my partner recently and we are having a very good time with Battleblock Theater, what I notice is that she enjoys the most when there has to be teamwork involved, and I will like to get more suggestion for the future or maybe to vary a little bit, My partner is very new to games so it should be something with not an extremely hard gameplay.
What I have seen so far that may be interesting to try:
It takes two (isnt already out but we are looking forward for it a lot)
Guacamelee.
Rayman Legends
and maybe "Shiftlings"
The beavers one seems funny, and yes I know that there were older post asking for the same, but I'm giving a kind of specific information and there may be new games as well, I checked those posts before opening mine
have you tried some Couch-Coop games? these are my favorite :'3
Overcooked! 2 fun and chaotic management game
Castle Crashers from the same people that made Battleblock Theater ^^
Aegis Defender 2d platforming and tower-defend game, quite hardcore at the latter part
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes not really couch coop but it works fine with one laptop
And these are some of my favorite Coop Multiplayer Games, but requires a copy for each player
Ibb and Obb very cute 2d platforming game
Human Fall Flat hilarious 3d platforming game
That's it for now, I'm not sure if you and your partner are into playing agaist each other yet :'3 so I'll leave some reccomendations for those later. I hope you'll find something for you and your partner :3
Shank (first game story can be played solo or local co-op, second game only some kind of arcade mode is played in solo or local co-op ,, story is only solo) side-scroll beat'em up
A Way Out same dev as It takes two, so worth it
Unravel 2 you asked for teamwork
Since you said easy, Unravel 2 if you want to do all achievements and beat the gold times it will be difficult will need to master/memorize the stages
But only beating it without care about timers then it is easy enough.
Overcooked 1 and 2, Trine 1, 2, 3 and 4, Regular Human Basketball,, Almost all recent LEGO games, Gang Beasts, Rocket League, Stikbold. They are all awesome Local COOP games or games with a local COOP-mode where you work together :D
Cook, Serve, Delicious hasn't been mentioned yet. Definitely a favorite here. Haven't played the third one yet, and the gameplay differences between 1 and 2 might make them both worth trying. Typically super cheap on a good sale.
You can play together on Battlenet. If you'd rather play with your local characters, you can play privatized games in open Battlenet. If you're running mods or PlugY, then you can play over TCP/IP. (And yes, you can run Diablo 2 as a non-Steam game.)
Unlike the first Trine, Trine 2 offers up a brand-new Game Mode that may intrigue those who weren't interested in the original Trine, multiplayer. The multiplayer mode in Trine 2 offers up the chance to play with your two best buddies either locally on the same system or online on individual systems. The host of the game is given multiple options to change that are also featured in singleplayer such as difficulty, yet one new option remains. The host may allow players to switch to other characters on the fly like in singleplayer, or force the players to stick with a single character the entire time.
Trine 2's multiplayer allows three friends to play the entire game cooperatively. Each player chooses one of the three heroes and must play as that hero for the entirety of the level. There are no major gameplay changes that result from multiplayer, other than the expected level of chaos that usually results from multiplayer games.
