Hifolks ?

I just purchased the Affinity V2 Universal License today and I was really excited to get started.

I cannot get the program to install on Windows 10 - the progress bar hits 16% quickly and then hangs at "Installing Required Frameworks".

I figured this had something to do with Microsoft .Net Framework so I went to the official site and installed version 4.8.1. Still no change.

In my screenshot "Launch when ready" is de-selected just to try something else but no change.

I've tried multiple times but no go, and I've left it sat for about 15 minutes so far with no change.

Has anyone encountered this or anyone have any advice?

Thanks.

Hi v_kyr,

Can confirm - that solution worked! ? After installing that specific package from the Microsoft site I was able to install all three Affinity products without issue.

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond ?

Also look at log files. They usually have enough infos to find the problem. And likely not the case, but make sure you're not running out of disk space (I've had that problem once in vmware with a default 8gb partition which filled all too fast and made the .net framework install mysteriously fail, which it never had done before). Could be countless things.

I'm merely trying to install .Net 1.1 on an existing server that was built using an nLited image. .Net 2.0 isn't needed at this time. I was following the theory that nLite RC8 did something that kept the setup routine from succeeding. (Remember that this is Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64. .Net 1.1 is not included in the OS on 64-bit versions.)

Yeah, I know nLite 1.0 and later are out, but I'm using RC8 because I'm trying to find and fix something that was broken in a build that I originally created with RC8. I didn't want to change too much before I knew for sure the cause, you know?

Through the process of elimination, I finally figured out the issue was DEP! I can't remember for sure now, but I think nLite stuck the offending line in my winnt.sif at some point. Not knowing any different, I had left it in.

I knew this issue was related to our custom unattend/sysprep image which was built with an nLited CD. I started by removing items in winnt.sif and rebuilding a test box until the issue disappeared. Then I gradually eliminated/added back items to determine the root cause.

But on the existing server (where my current issue is), the ability to turn off DEP was disabled. (See the screenshot.) I had to create a new entry in boot.ini and re-boot to force DEP to its default state. (See for more information.)

Yeah, I'm not surprised honestly. While DEP sounded like a good idea at first, the implementation seems horribly broken. First time I've seen DEP in action was when a friend bought a new laptop with hardware that supported it. His Windows XP that came with it would crash in apps like notepad or the calculator... Turned DEP off, all problems gone.

I was trying to install Maxcut software that is not possible to install via wine (it works to a some point then I get error and installation crashes) so there is a good chance it won't work under crossover but still want to make sure if I did anything to make it work.

Is anything else I could try? I am completye crossover newbie and would be ready to buy it if it allowed me to run this program in linux. That's the only software that prevents me of using linux at work.

Are the libs you refer to Windows libs? If so, your Linux version should not be the issue. Wne / Crossover are not detecting these libs for some reason. Have you tried to simulate a reboot in Crossover after installing the libs and trying the installation? Good luck!

All the apps that are list are 32bit but your running a 64-bit OS . Right? Have you installed Multiarch support? I think crossover does this but if not try add

32 bit architecture support then update see if the missing 32 bit libraries are there.

Ok i also downloaded Maxcut and tried to install it, it tries to install the .net framework 4.0. Does it do this on you and do you have it installed? I'll download it when i have more bandwidth satellite Internet have to download it in the morning when i have more bandwidth. I'M also running Crossover Linux 15.3 and a Windows 7 bottle i don't think that makes a difference. But you may want to update Crossover if you can.

The Microsoft .NET Framework 4 web installer package downloads and installs the .NET Framework components required to run on the target machine architecture and OS. An Internet connection is required during the installation. .NET Framework 4 is...

I already have .NET framework 4 installed (When i tried to install from the link you provided I got an installation message that said I already have it on my computer). Thanks though for your suggestion.

If you crash out of it and try again same problem, but when you do a pc restart its works fine. I have even done a restart from login screen and tried and AutoCAD behaves. All other software work fine.

Force quiting, logging out, clearing temp file, killing the whole autocad process or anything does not un-freeze the Autocad. Once I restart the PC I am able to open the autocad. but that is a question of a time when it happen again.

Similar hardware setup (Dell precision t5610,xenon,SSD,32GB ram,Nvidia k5000,windows10pro,Synology nas+computer on windows AD)..dads computer is also up to date and sadly no lack..I am able to open autocad file..work on it.then open another file and it freezes same as on my home PC.

Here is an article that lists a variety of possibilities to work through in troubleshooting the problem. I suggest ignoring the A360 portion as that service is being retired. In fact, you are welcome to uninstall the A360 desktop app.

For testing, please remove the NAS from the system. It is not a supported configuration and sometimes the selected network protocol can cause problems. (I have found that SMB3 with packet signing generally works the best).

The autocad freezes on the file sometimes thats correct but when you forcequit it then when you open the autocad again you dont pass the main screen where you open the project or see the recent opened files..

There is nothing running on the PC then autocad...As i mentioned previosly it does produce this issue even en newly installed os and autocad with default settings set up by the installation..also the issue is happeing while working on local files from SSD disk..while the nas is completely disconnected. Windows 7 is all fine...there was no mention on windows 7 being used only autocad 2017 which is behaving the same way as 2018.

So, I have installed latest nvidia driver(what i dont think is related to it). Right clicked on the acad.exe and ticked the option to run it as admin(this should be irrelevant as the user is admin on the PC anyways), malwarebytes has been uninstalled ages ago(what you see there is just leftover from it), Sophos antivirus is installed since last year and it never been a problem with autocad 2014 what dads office uses cloudworkx plugin, autocad 2017 and 2018 worked great until recent security updates from the windows..so there is something obviosly missing on the autocad side. Autocad has to produce bux-fix for this as is purely related to its product, no other software has a problem with it. I read, is downt to the netframework 4.7.1 which is build in with the latest windows 10, All the workstations has been recently purchased from the Dell so they all comes with the lates Win10.. So there is no way to uninstall the .net framework 4.7.1

If you have any add-ins, please remove them for troubleshooting as well. I would suggest also that you perform a Reset Settings to Default and then launch the program without any migration or customization.

for taking that much interest into finding the culprit, Sophos is now stopped and I also installed the .NET framework 4.7.2 early access build 3052 (which seems to me as a beta build), no addins are installed as is new install. The autocad is not getting stuck in license check. So lets see If it still freezes.

Everything has been followed as advised. Sophos service is completely disabled .net framework 4.7.2 preview installed ,autocad temp file deleted, autocad reset to the defaults, elevated permission set for WSCOMMCNTR4.exe and acad.exe, NAS is not disconnected as that is irrelevant to the issue as no files being opened from the NAS and it always has been connected and never caused issues.

Have you solved this? I'm in the same boat. I have tried to work with Autodesk rep but basically, they keep pushing me away and saying its a windows problem. My reseller (SolidCAD) is completely useless and stopped answering my phone calls/email.

The only thing I have figured out is that Windows Defender is causing the issue. once disabled we are back in business. The problem with disabling windows defender is it affects Outlook and cant open any attachments.

One customer relayed that in a similar situation, she installed AutoCAD 2018, verified that her 2017 product was fully current, updated A360 (which is now about to be turned off totally) and then her 2017 worked fine. If you go through these steps successfully, I suggest uninstalling the A360.

I just installed AutoCAD 2019 (that @Anonymous suggested) not freezing anymore. yaay.... but again I agree that this is a AutoDesk issue and they keep sweeping it under a rug. I have had 4 support cases with Autodesk so far and no solution. Only one guy did a Teamview help session and tried to help, later admitting he wasn't experienced enough (which is fair and he tried to help) and passed me off to the next person who was no help... again. Every other issue I have had Autodesk has done a good job in helping nut this is the one really big sour grape that just ruins the relationship. Sorry to rant but I had to.

Yesterday I did the 1903 update of Windows 10. Before the upgrade HP Performance Advisor worked perfectly. Never a problem. After the update the pc freezes when I start that program. It stops with the words in the screen: Interrogating platform...Baseboard...

I have to push the on/of button of the PC for 5 seconds and then I can restart the computer. Very frustrating. I searched on the internet to find a solution. The advice to install an older Intel Management and security tool didn't give the solution. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program > same problem. I hope that somebody can give me the right tip. Thanks in advance.
