Just did a trial run today and stumbled on an issue - at the end of track I hit the "Recording" bar which switches to "Pause", but I don't see an "OFF". I then hit the "+" thinking that it would create a new paused track (and it does) but when checking my saved tracks I still see my track as "ON". I can switch it "OFF" and that's ok but cumbersome compared to the "OFF" we used to have on the same page.

Hi Max,

When you hit the "+" button, it does start a new track (and save any points that might not be saved yet on the current track).

I think the Saved table isn't updating which track appears to be recording, until you flip the switch to start recording the new track. I made a note to fix that, sorry!

Andrew

I wanted to follow up on this report again, and say I'm not sure what's going on, or maybe I'm misunderstanding the report.

If you would send an email with your phone number to and...@gaiagps.com, I think I'd like to ask a couple questions and get you to talk me through it.

Regards,
Andrew

Andrew, I have the same problem - there is no obvious way to stop recording a track. The switch is a pause button, and there is no stop button.

I'm sorry this is confusing.

We intend for you to press the "+" button to "stop and save." The track is always being saved as you record, and the plus button just flushes the old track, and starts a new one. Just don't start recording again after you press "+." We'll look at how this could be better.

I have the same problem. I have no idea how to stop the track. It has been paused for months. I can't see any + button either in the saved track list or in  the track display

The simple and obvious solution is to add a Stop button. Why not do that? Whatever your system is, it is not at all intuitive.

Sorry David, this forum post is from Oct 2013. Here's the Help article on Recording: http://help.gaiagps.com/knowledgebase/articles/397444-how-to-record-tracks

We're considering changing this again, it's changed 4 times over the years.
