clear cache - what does it do?

Does clear cache delete all the maps that I have downloaded? I searched the pdf for clear cache did not find reference to it.

Hey Don,
Gaia caches up to 100,000 map tiles automatically, as you look around the map. That button clears that temporary cache, but does not delete your saved maps.

I think what you are saying is that if I am looking at maps while on my wireless connection that Gai qeues up what I'm looking at so that the tiles don't have to be redownloaded if I pan around different tiles on the map and then come back to original tile. Kinda like a most recently used cache of tiles. Right?

Hello there,
I'm sorry that you are unable to refresh those OpenStreetMap tiles. Our version is not updated very frequently so I would recommend adding other OSM sources if you are looking for the most up to date OSM info. You could add the MapQuest OSM or OpenStreetMap (classic map styling) layer by going to your layers button on your main map screen and then choosing "Add more layers..." and tapping on the source you would like to add.

when i try to wipe the cache, (for example using openstreetmap classic and try to see if my new mapped details occur on the map) some old tiles seems not to be deleted!!! Some of the newly loaded tiles are showing old details. It releates to the tiles, where i have marked a waipoint in the past. Deleting the waypoint doesnot alter the bevavior......
Additionally i think only the tiles are not deleted and refreshed to which i set a waipoint before updating to ios 6 and before updating to Gaia 7.2....
Reinstallation is no option at the moment, because i think i will loose my stored tracks.
