how to stop sleep mode or stay on all the time?

On my  Android S3,  Gaiagps goes to sleep and I want it to stay on.  I have looked on gaiagps settings but did not find the control for it.  I think this is controlled on a per app basis because if I run my Torque app the screen never goes to sleep.  So there must be a setting or default in the app to tell Android not to go to sleep.

I also looked in settings>applications outside of Gaiagps but I did not find a sleep mode per app adjustment.

Hi Don,

Gaia GPS does not override the default sleep settings on Android, but it does on iOS. I I just fixed this a few days ago, It didn't make it into the most recent update, but when the next update comes out your phone will not go to sleep when Gaia GPS is in the foreground. We haven't scheduled the next update yet, but it will likely come out in a couple weeks.
