problems deleting maps

In my enthusiasm to get gaiagps running I inadvertently started some huge map  downloads (88,362 tiles) that would not finish.  I was able to stop the downloading but now I can't delete them.  When I go to delete them the S3 hangs and finally a screen comes up saying that gaiagps is not responding do you want to close?

Is this operator error or Is there a workaround to remove those maps until the bug is fixed.?  I thought about using a file manager to delete them but I decided I should ask  first on the advisability of doing that.

Apparently what happened is that during the download of this large file I had a network outage and the map download did not automatically complete.  So after I clicked resume download then I was able to delete the file as you suggested.
