Using Nexus 7 (2013) near Moss Beach, CA

Found that Gaia GPS is displaying and recording elevations (altitudes) that are about 90 feet lower than topo map and the device GPS indicate.  This is evident via the "trip" screen.

For example, when I'm at 75 feet above sea level, Gaia GPS displays -13 (below sea level)... Happened all along a hike up over 1300 feet...

I can only guess that Gaia must be pulling elevations from an elevation model that is incorrect.

Why don't they pull these directly from the device GPS?

Hoping this can be resolved promptly.

FROM THE HELP DESK: "Gaia GPS uses the GPS info that comes from your device.  [...]  We do correct altitude that comes from certain devices that we know to be inaccurate.  You can turn off this correction in settings, by tapping on "Use uncorrected altitude"."

Leaves me wondering why some "correction" is the default value, and which devices are known to be inaccurate, but checking that little box fixed this issue.
