Greetings everyone!

First of all thank you so much for coming to the meetings with such an enthusiasm. With all your great ideas, this meeting couldn't have been more productive. I am sending this email to let everybody know where we stand right now and what do we need to accomplish before our next meeting which is in the first week of April.

The initial goal of this project is to raise $888 [*8 being the lucky number in Japan:) ]

The LE100 group will be making five glass donation jars and putting them in the following spots on-campus: 1. Library 2. Cafeteria 3. Pirates Ground Coffee Shop 4. Smart Market and 5. Copley Quad Lobby

Yuki will design a flyer/poster for the project. We need slogans and a title for this project. So please email me with as many slogans as you can.

Justin will make a facebook group dedicated to supporting Japan. Please join the group and be updated.

Douggie will talk with the University Advancement, office of VP, and more to seek any donors or any authority who would be willing to mirror the funds collected :). We will be purchasing customized wrist bands in various designs to sell on-campus.

Our first project will be to organize a Japanese day in a week like Day 1-Japanese name writing (bookmarks, greeting cards etc.), Day 2- Japanese Food, etc. LE100 group will take the lead on this one and we all will be supporting them.

I will contact the presidents of each clubs on-campus asking for a  generous support/donation of $10 to get this project started.
Please fill me in if I left something. Also please do not hesitate to express any concern regarding the project. After today's meeting, this goal seems more meaningful to me and hope it does to you all too.

Thank you bunches!

Sincerely,

Miki Katuwal

This looks like a great idea! For the slogan we should incorporate a Japanese theme. I found some great Japanese words that can be incorporated into a design and slogan.  doan: [Japanese] The person who leads the chanting; eko: [Japanese] The transfer of one’s merits to another. This is a project of 'transferring one's merits to another.'

Hi all, I quickly made some sketches. I'll be happy to hear what people think.

And I don't think both "doan" and "eko" are not Japanese words...maybe. Because I've never heard these words. :-0

Thank you.

Hello again,

Only few members are available on Friday to meet. Many members preferred Monday after 3. So, let's meet this Monday April 11th after 3 pm. I will send a reminder again in the weekend.

Thank you all.
