Club advisors & student leaders:

First of all, thank you so much for a great academic year! Your hard
work and dedication really paid off with an active and exciting campus
life! The great generosity and desire to serve others that are in need
has really been the most striking theme from the student clubs this
year.

Many of you and your organizations were recognized for these efforts
at the Doris Howell Leadership Awards Banquet last week. If you would
like to see the complete list of recipients you can do so at:
http://news.park.edu/pub/news_001910.shtml

I would also like to remind everyone to complete an officer contact
form by May 1st, 2011. The form is very short, and can be completed
online at: http://www.park.edu/studentlife/leadership/officercontact.html
This should be completed with the contact information for the
2011-2012 officers for your organization. If you do not yet know who
that will be then at least complete the name of one person that can be
contacted throughout the summer so that important deadlines for
orientation, the activities fair, and welcome week are not missed. If
you have not yet held your officer elections for next year I recommend
you do that as soon as possible.

I will be leaving my position in Student Life at the end of May and I
hope to have all the officer contacts up to date for my eventual
replacement. It has been wonderful working with you in your roles in
the student clubs and I wish you lots of success!

Finally, I also have two volunteer/service opportunities for the month
of May that have been brought to my attention that might interest some
of you. They are listed below:

America: Now and Here is an art exhibit that is looking for dependable
volunteers. The website for the exhibit can be found at
http://kansascity.americanowandhere.org
Volunteers are needed May 6- May 27th; Wednesdays-Sundays from
11am-7pm. They need volunteers for the following shifts (but can be
flexible on time) 11-2, 2-5 and 5-7pm. The exhibit is at the Leedy-
Voulkos Art Center at 20th & Baltimore in the Crossroads District of
Kansas City. If you are interested you can contact Libby Kreighbaum at
kcvolu...@americanowandhere.org

A local grade school is looking for volunteers to judge their science
fair on May 18th. The judging will be in the morning between 9am and
11am. If you would like to volunteer please contact Shawna Mazeitis at
maze...@gmail.com
