Dear Friends,

Below you’ll find an invitation to attend the green building events
happening in partnership with World Environment Day (WED).  I wanted to
let you know that the keynote address has started filling up quickly
and we expect it to be a sold out event! The keynote address will also
be attended by international mayors and delegates participating in WED,
and consequently represents a unique opportunity to attend a delegate
event. So, if you’ve been planning on attending, please don’t hesitate
to register. My apologies if this is a duplicate email for you – I
wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anyone. The keynote promises to be an
inspiring and engaging presentation and I’d love to see everyone who’d

The “Not So Big” New Urbanism
Thursday June 2nd, 2005

PG&E Auditorium, 77 Beale St., San Francisco
Admission: $20

Sarah Susanka and Andrés Duany, world renowned leaders in their
respective fields, will present an inspiring view and lively discussion
about the future of sustainable planning and architecture. Presentation
will be followed by a book signing in the lobby hosted by Builders
Booksource.

About the speakers:
Sarah Susanka, FAIA – Cultural visionary, architect and best selling
author of The Not So Big House series, has redefined the American home.
Sarah emerged as a leader of a movement toward quality design, and her
"build better, not bigger" approach to residential architecture has
been embraced by homeowners, architects, and builders across the
country.

Andrés Duany, FAIA – Internationally acclaimed architect, author and
pioneer of The New Urbanism movement is co-founder of The Congress for
New Urbanism. His firm is noted for over 140 traditional neighborhood
design towns and cities including award-winning Seaside. Andres is the
co-author of Suburban Nation: The Rise of Sprawl and the Decline of the
American Dream.
