Dear Colleagues,

Build It Green home tour organizers are still actively soliciting applications for the second Build It Green Home Tour in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  Building on the huge success of the past two home tours in 2005, which drew over 1,700 participants on May 1st in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and over 1,000 participants on September 25th in Marin and Sonoma Counties, we are excited to offer the next home tour in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties on Sunday, June 4, 2006.

The event is an opportunity for homeowners to share their green building experiences with their community as well as educate tour attendees on the variety of green building practices, products and technologies currently available locally.

Qualifying homes will be located in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and must demonstrate a variety of green building features and techniques.  Any type of residential housing will be considered including new and remodeled single family residences, townhouses, multifamily, duplexes, and condominiums.

The goals of the green home tour are to showcase healthy, durable, energy and resource efficient features which are both aesthetically pleasing AND environmentally friendly, as well as to demonstrate that homes can incorporate green features on any budget.

If you have participated in the construction or retrofit of a green residence, we encourage you to submit an application for the tour.  We would also appreciate it if you could forward this announcement to other colleagues that might be interested. Those interested in showcasing their green homes can receive more information as well as download a word or pdf application at www.BuildItGreen.org.  Please note:  Our Application deadline has been extended.  Please contact Michele Brown by November 28th at (510) 845-5106 ext. 230 if you have a project you would like to discuss.
