Thanks to everyone who responded to my recent Request For Information on behalf of Mikiten Architecture regarding dual-flush toilets. Erick Mikiten sent me the following note:
“And finally, thank you for posting our dual-flush toilet question. We got a call the same day from Branagh Construction, who have installed them in a couple of large multifamily projects, and it looks we should be able to get them back in the project again - they recommended a Sterling brand option that was only $180 - not much more than our standard 1.6 gpf toilets. We're happy about that!”
Since my last RFI was so successful, I’m circulating a second RFI, also from Mikiten, related to green roof systems. Please see Kristina’s email below.

Subject: Modular green roof system
Hi Bruce,
To sum up what I told you on the phone;
I am looking for a modular green roofing system which can be used to create
“walk-able” lawn area.
The product that I had specified is modular system by GreenTech, which consists
of 46”x46” and 8” deep “plastic” modules
that are interlocking and have a 4” H. plastic edge clipped around the
outer edges of the field in order in order to achieve a continuous 12”
depth of soil for a continuous planting surface. There are small holes in
the bottom of the modules for drainage and the underside of the modules is
molded to create channels for water to flow through. In my current
project we have the modules sitting on a PT deck that will be treated with a
continuous fluid applied waterproofing system and will slope to floor drains at
the edges of the turf area.
I’m asking around about other products because I recently found out that
Greentech is in midst of negotiating a new manufacturing contract and is
currently in a “non-inventory” situation. Thus far I have
found one other modular green roofing product by GreenGrid, however this
product is a modular planter and cannot be used to create a continuous,
walk-able turf area.
Construction of the project is at a point where we need to, ASAP, find
something that will work with our current design or eliminate the elements
relating to the turf area and develop an alternative design consisting of
raised planters. We need to make a decision within the next day or so.
If you could forward this around I would really appreciate it.
Thank you very much for your help,
Kristina
