They both have their pros and cons. It depends on your budget and your preferences. I use Windows computers with iDevices via MIDI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and audio interfaces, and it works well for the most part.

The issue with PC for me personally is ASIO, the low latency driver most commonly used with music apps on PC. It works great if the only thing you do is make music, but if you want to watch a YouTube tutorial at the same time, ASIO will not allow the browser to generate sound. As I said, this was my own personal experience and maybe I was doing something wrong, but I hated having to quit the DAW just to watch a video with sound.
The other issue for me is that I always had trouble configuring the iConnectMIDI4+ on a PC. The app used to configure it just didn't work most of the time. Also the driver provided by iConnectivity never worked for me either. I spent hours troubleshooting, but it wasn't the hardware, it was Windows. After I switched to Mac ALL of these issues went away and I could just focus on the music.
Such a range of options you have. FWIW, have successfully used Ableton on various PCs since V7. Live 9 is currently working well here on a well speced Dell laptop. Integration with ios has been painless for the most part, though I primarily just export audio for further processing in Live. Have successfully used studiomux in the past, but updates can be spotty which can be a big deal for software that integrates a constantly evolving parade of hardware and operating system changes.
Windows Audio has made some strides in recent years. The WASAPI drivers included with Windows work quite well, and have an Exclusive and Shared mode. Unfortunately, Ableton Live 9 does not support WASAPI. Maybe they'll add it in v10?
Another way of integrating is to use apps that export Ableton project files. Korg Gadget, iKaosillator, Triqtraq, Patterning, Blocs Wave, Groovebox and ElasticDrums all support this feature. I use these apps and they are great for quickly getting ideas going which can be expanded further in Ableton. Dropbox is a good solution for sending the files across.

I'm using Ableton Suite on both Win and Mac, and from a few years of experience with both I cannot say in general that one platform is better than the other.
Both Windows and MacOS are very robust and stable operating systems, and the problems that some people have are usually related to buggy applications, buggy drivers or - even more common - any combination thereof.
To be fair though, for more recent Windows versions you'll need a number of inofficial "hacks" to make it a professional system, which includes disabling a number of undesirable services and arbitrary update behaviour.
The more elaborate your concept of your ideal audio workstation is, and that includes all software and all hardware you want to combine, the more members of this forum will be able to state their opinion about it.
HP Elite Desk i7 4770@ 3.40GHz with 16gig ram. iPad Air 2 with Studiomux into Ableton 10 Suite latest Beta. With Push 2. This is the most stable & powerful system i have ever had, & runs like a dream at the moment. Last year i had the same setup but with Ableton 9.7 and an i5 Elite Desk with 8 gigs of ram......that also ran really great. It's taken a long time to get here, but i can honestly say i now have the kind of set up that does what i want it too, and actually performs how i want it to. This is what i was trying to do in 1999. Time and affordability have finally made it possible for someone without huge amounts of money to have an amazing setup. These HP business machines run almost silently & never even get warm..........my advice would be to stick with it.....you will pay a massive premium just for the apple name if you get a mac..........hope this helps.....cheers.......

Hearing you say this definitely helps! Granted my pc only has 8gbRAM (Which is upgradeable) still makes me a bit hesitant, but I believe sticking with this computer and spending the extra money on a Push 2 is going to pay off. The ableton live 10 integration looks amazing. And plus I remember reading an article about the Push 2 potentially being able to be used with iPads in the near future. Anyone remember this or heard any news on that?
Just uninstall anything you don't need. Mine had a fresh windows install so was completely clean. BTW i have the small form factor Elite Desk. Make sure all the drivers are up to date. Go into Device Manager to update your drivers. Use cc cleaner to keep it all running well, & install a good free anti virus. I use Avast, which seems to keep me safe & stays pretty much out of the way. There are a few things you can do to optimize your pc for audio. Just google "optimize win 10 (or whatever ) for audio" and you will find all you need to know.....that's pretty much it....oh yeah if it's not an SSD hard drive keep it De-Fragged......happy to assist if you need more help with anything.......Good Luck...
My pc is a fraction slower than the setup @Iso is running, I have 8gb ram and it's not a problem at all. I do have an ssd which is highly recommended, I keep my system files, Ableton and some vst stuff along with what I'm currently working on. Everything else goes to an external usb 3 drive and I haven't noticed any issues.
I can agree with @Iso that this is the most stable setup I have worked with. Feels like I bought a new pc and even my Push 1 seems far more responsive. I put all my most used devices, vst stuff and fx chains in the new "favourites" folder and they show up first on Push when I go browsing.
I've got everything installed, and I can run the standalone Guitar Rig 7 Pro application, but when I startup ableton live suite and check the plugin area for VST3, I do not see Guitar Rig 7 listed under the Native Instruments Section. The odd thing is that I have checked the Program Files\Common Files\VST3 location and I do see the Guitar Rig 7 vst3 file in that location, i've done a rescan in ableton preferences and so on, but for some reason the VST3 doesn't seem to want to show up.
